Today, we’re sending our warmest wishes to Amanda as she embarks on her next big adventure at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire! 🎓 Not only will she be playing lacrosse, but she’ll also be majoring in Environmental Science and Ecology.

Amanda’s love for the outdoors has made her an integral part of the Lake and Company family. While it’s hard to see her go, we’re excited to watch her thrive in this new chapter.

Today, we’re celebrating one of our incredible team members, Kaiya, as she heads off to the University of North Dakota! 🎓 Kaiya will be pursuing a double major in Political Science and Business, and we couldn’t be more proud of her.

After a couple of wonderful years with us at Lake and Company, it’s bittersweet to see her go, but we’re so excited for all the amazing things she’ll accomplish in this next chapter.

Today is her last day, so stop by our Grand Rapids store to shop her top picks and wish her well as she embarks on this new adventure!

On and Off the Beaten Path: 2300 miles around South Dakota

“To experience a true piece of American beauty, a road trip through South Dakota is essential. ☀️

With an unmapped route from northern Minnesota to the state’s southwest corner, each stop revealed new wonders. Highlights included renting a pontoon, kayaking, hiking, and sleeping under the stars at Angostura Reservoir—an adventure that felt perfectly planned despite having no plan at all.

Watertown truly impressed with its scenic lakes and parks, which offered excellent spots for family activities, while downtown presented unique shopping and dining experiences. From buffalo in Custer State Park to marinas in Chamberlain and the diverse attractions in Watertown, South Dakota’s unexpected beauty, wide-open spaces, and friendly locals made for a memorable escape.

Summer and fall each offer their own charms: cooling lakes in the Black Hills during hot summers and fewer crowds at the Badlands and Mount Rushmore in the fall.”

Clean. Drain. Dry. How do you plan to stay cool in the heat wave? You know, at Lake and Co we love getting out on the water. Whether it’s fishing, paddling, or a leisurely trip on the pontoon, we all have our style. But these activities bring a risk of spreading invasive species. Fortunately, there are three easy steps we can all take to stop them in their tracks. 1. Clean all watercraft and gear, removing weeds, mud, and debris. 2. Drain water from boats, live wells, and bait containers. 3. Dry any remaining water. When we all work together, we can keep our lakes and rivers clean and accessible for generations to come.
