25 years ago: This is where it began.
I bought a decent camera and shot my first ever race as a 'pro' - the Auto Value Super Sprints season opener at Crystal Motor Speedway - Crystal, MI April 24, 1999.
I knew racing, but I didn't know much about camera gear and it shows in these early videos. I used a wide-angle lens for some reason, auto-focus, and an aftermarket Radio Shack mixer to mix the sound. Things would improve.
This event is also notorious as first ever Sprint Car race for a couple of future Michigan stars: All time SOD feature winner Dustin Daggett Racing and All Star racer Chad Blonde. Also one of the rare races that 3 generations of Daggetts raced (Dustin, Mike, Don).
The race was won by Michigan Hall of Famer Jason Blonde over Doug Zimmerman, and another HoF inductee Ken Mackey.

Attica Raceway Park may be rained out again, but here are highlights from the All Stars Spring Nationals visit 15 years ago, April 11, 2009.
'The Low Rider' Dale Blaney passes Tim Shaffer late to take the feature win, Greg Wilson finished 3rd. Dale and George Fisher were a force to be reckoned with during this era, while Shaffer and Brian Kemenah would soon gel and win a lot of races in the 83 car.
