A lot of hard work and collaboration made this all possible. I am excited that we can now offer these free items to our community. This is just the first step and I am looking forward to seeing what else we can do!

Update
Wisconsin Department of Health Services urges to throw away applesauce brands that are part of a nationwide recall due to high levels of lead.
There are three suspected cases of lead poisoning linked to these products in our state.
➡️ Press release here: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/news/releases/120723.htm
The following brands could be affected:
- WanaBana Apple Cinnamon Fruit Puree pouches
- Schnucks Cinnamon-Flavored Applesauce Pouches
- Schnucks Applesauce Variety Pack
- Weis Cinnamon Applesauce Pouches.
If you have any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them out.
If you think your child might have eaten the applesauce products listed above, talk with a health care provider about getting a blood lead test.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
COVID-19 Cases are Rising in Outagamie County; Here’s How You Can Protect Yourself and Loved Ones from Respiratory Illnesses this Fall
Outagamie County, WI – September 22, 2023
It’s respiratory illness season. Every year during the fall and winter we start to see an increase in cases of the flu, RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus), and COVID-19.
In Outagamie County, we are seeing an increase in the number of positive cases of COVID-19 reported by our healthcare providers.
Since September 1, the daily average of reported positive COVID-19 cases has tripled in our county. This week, more than 20 percent of reported COVID-19 test results have been positive. It is important to note this is a small sample of the potential positive cases in our community as at-home tests are available. You do not need to report the results of an at-home test.
What is different this year than previous years? We have vaccines that will combat the flu, RSV, and COVID-19. The COVID-19 and flu vaccines are updated to provide protection for the latest strains.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services encourages everyone 6 months of age and older to stay up to date on their vaccines. We know vaccines are the best protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death. Talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacy to learn more about the vaccines and to schedule your appointment. You can also check vaccines.gov to find locations near you.
Not sure if you have COVID-19, allergies, the flu, or something else? Get tested. Healthcare providers can test for COVID-19, flu, RSV, and other respiratory illnesses with one test.
Starting Monday, September 25, you can go to Covidtests.gov and order free at-home COVID rapid tests. Also, before you throw out expired tests check to see if your COVID-19 tests’ expiration dates have been extended.
If you are underinsured or do not have health insurance you can get tested for free at several Walgreens locations in Outagamie County. This is possible through the CDC ICATT program. To find a site near you visit testinglocator.cdc.gov/
Finally, take preventative action. Stay home if you are sick or feeling unwell. Cover coughs and sneezes, wash your hands frequently, and avoid touching your face.
If you think you have been exposed or you test positive, visit the Wisconsin Department of Health Services website for guidance: www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/about.htm
