Recently I’ve had the opportunity to voice several projects for a company headquartered in France. The company, VideoTelling, generally engages English speaking voices to overdub business and industrial videos that were originally produced in other languages.

They provide the English script which occasionally contains some unusual phrasing due to its origin in and translation from another language. One of the challenging aspects is keeping the audio I record in sync with the video they provide. I’ve found it easiest to watch the original video and write times on the edge of the script, then record the English version with excessively long pauses between sections. Then, when editing, I can cut out a portion of the long pauses to make each section of the audio land precisely where it is needed.

I get paid in Euros, which fortunately PayPal automatically converts to dollars.
