May the eyes of your heart be enlightened to know... (Ephesians 1:18).
As the eyes of the heart open, what truths will be revealed?
Although Alyssa Nelson chose nursing for her profession, she hasn’t found a cure for her broken heart. Photographing nature in her off-hours takes her mind off her pain. However, the photos she captures in her camera’s memory card can’t replace the memory of her heartache and regrets.
When Alyssa comes face-to-face with her past, she is thrown into police investigations, mystery, intrigue, and a touch of fun.
The truth comes into focus as Alyssa’s heart opens to God’s healing, yet will she make the same mistakes she made before, or will she choose a new beginning?

God will never leave you. You can drop your worries and cares, and take the hand of our all-powerful, all-mighty, all-sufficient God. -->
When I was a little girl, my family went to Galveston to go crabbing between huge boulders that made up the seawall. Once there, we tied chicken bones on a string and dropped them between the rocks. The crabs would crawl out from under the rocks and take hold, and we would haul them up and place them in a cooler chest for a later meal.
Our quiet afternoon was interrupted by screams of terror. We turned to find my little sister had fallen between the rocks. Her little arms and legs quivered as she pushed against the boulders to hold herself up. However, there was no danger, she was actually just a few inches from the sand. But we couldn’t convince her to let go and set her feet on solid ground.
I’m sure she imagined an army of crabs ready to eat her if she let go. Yet, all she had to do was stand up and take my dad’s hand. Fortunately, dad safely retrieved her (and she enjoys eating crabs now).
It’s easy to imagine the worst happening, yet our heavenly Father is standing with us, telling us, “Let go, I’ve got you, I won’t let you fall.”
God will never leave you. You can drop your worries and cares, and take the hand of our all-powerful, all-mighty, all-sufficient God.
Heavenly Father, help me remember Your promise that You will never leave or forsake me. Thank You that You will never let me go.
“Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation]. For I the Lord your God keep hold of your right hand; [I am the Lord], Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you’” (Isaiah 41:10, 13, AMP).

Need joyful wisdom? -->
(I posted a little about this earlier, but wanted to share some additional thoughts).
I used to think about wisdom as a stern scholar sitting behind a huge desk looking over his glasses as I tried to fumble through life.
I got so excited when I read the following verse about wisdom creating with God. “I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him, rejoicing in His inhabited world, and my delight was with the sons of men” (Proverbs 8:30-31, NKJV).
Isn’t that wonderful? As God created the world, wisdom was rejoicing and delighting in, and with, God.
The One who created the world has all the information needed for us as we live in the world. Regardless how small or big our request, God’s wisdom will joyfully delight in providing the answers needed. James reminds, “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5, AMP).
Generous, kind, caring, compassionate God is waiting to guide us with every decision and through every circumstance, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Proverbs 2:6, NASB; Jeremiah 33:3, NKJV).
Wisdom plays, rejoices, knows the deep secrets of God and the deep secrets of all that God has created. Go to God and ask for the blessing of His delightful, joyful wisdom.
“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!” For, “the wisdom from above is always pure, filled with peace, considerate and teachable. It is filled with love and never displays prejudice or hypocrisy in any form and it always bears the beautiful harvest of righteousness!” (Romans 11:33, NASB; James 3:17, TPT).
“Get [skillful and godly] wisdom! Acquire understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation]! … Do not turn away from her (Wisdom) and she will guard and protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. … When you walk, your steps will not be impeded [for your path will be clear and open]; and when you run, you will not stumble. Take hold of instruction; [actively seek it, grip it firmly and] do not let go. Guard her, for she is your life” (Proverbs 4:5-13, AMP).

The Discovery Chapter
Several years ago, my husband and I spent a quiet afternoon shopping. Our lazy wanderings were interrupted when my cell phone rang.
“Lisa,” my mom’s voice struggled to remain calm, “your security company just called. Your fire alarm is going off and the fire department is on their way.”
My husband and I hurried to the car and prayed all the way home. We were so grateful our smoke detectors were hard-wired in case of trouble to automatically notify the fire department.
When we arrived, neighbors were gathered on the street and fire-fighters were already positioned to enter by force. House alarms screeching, we hurried and unlocked the door. Smoke and a nauseous odor billowed out. Our poor little dog, wide-eyed and shaking so much I thought his fur would fly off, ran to our waiting arms.
Fire-fighters rushed inside. We waited and prayed. Within minutes, the source of the smoke was found. A tea kettle had been left on a burner. What remained was a partially molten mass only seconds away from igniting. Besides a traumatized dog, a destroyed kettle, and a horrible odor, everything was fine.
However, if not for the fire and smoke alarms, our situation would have ended in disaster. Warnings have a purpose—protection and a chance for escape. The world is smoking and shaking and God is calling. Please don’t miss the warnings. Please don’t wait.
Heaven is real and so is hell. Jesus is The Rescue, The Way, the Escape. Through Jesus Christ we have forgiveness and eternal life. Jesus is the key to heaven and eternal freedom.
God allows us to choose Heaven by accepting His Son, Jesus Christ as Savior. Or we have another choice. We can say no. We can turn our back on God. Both choices have eternal consequences. The warning is for your benefit. Please don’t ignore the warnings. Don’t miss your chance. Please don’t miss your chance.
The world is shaking and smoking with warning signs. Time is short. God is calling. Please choose heaven by choosing God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed (John 3:16-17, John 14:6, Matthew 11:28, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-10, Romans 10:13, John 8:36).

Just as a radio station comes in clearly when you tune to the proper channel, we have to train our ears to hear God’s truth above the noise of the world.
Don’t be like those who “grumbled in their tents; they did not listen to the voice of the Lord.” ~ Psalm 106:25 (NASB)
Don’t be like those who refuse to listen. “’And just as He called and they would not listen, so they called and I would not listen,’ says the Lord of hosts.” ~ Zechariah 7:13 (NASB)
Don’t be stubborn and not pay attention. “But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.” ~ Jeremiah 7:24 (NIV)
Keep your ears open. “Listen, O my people, to my instruction; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.” ~ Psalm 78:1 (NASB)
Remember God’s plans are the best, so call on Him and seek Him with all your heart. “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NASB)
Keep your ears open and your feet ready to follow. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” ~ John 10:27 (NASB)
Tune out the voices of the world. Tune into the voice of God.

Feeling hindered? for you -->
I felt SO hindered. Miserably hindered. Whiny, needy, MISERABLY hindered. I couldn’t figure out some of the things hindering and burdening my soul. So, I wrote down the things that were concerning me. Then I prayed over them, gave them to the Lord, ripped them up, and placed them in a candle flame.
I watched the paper burn, and I prayed and released them to God. And I felt relieved. Free. Lighter. Cleaner.
Is something burdening or hindering you? May I humbly suggest talking with God and then giving Him those burdens? God wants you to be unhindered. He’s waiting and ready to shoulder every concern and rid every hindrance. Burn the hindrances in the flame of God’s love.
“Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.” … “Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.” … “Therefore, also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored].” ~ Psalm 55:22 (NASB), Matthew 11:29-30 (AMPC), Joel 2:12 (AMP)

STATEMENT OF FAITH
Our determined purpose is to know Christ. That we may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His person more strongly and more clearly…to know His love that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God, for in His presence we find joy and eternal pleasures as we are conformed to the likeness of His Son. (Philippians 3:10, Ephesians 3:19, Psalm 16:11. Romans 8:29).
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6). We believe that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). We believe that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 ).
We believe “if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8). We believe “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”(1 John 1:9). We believe “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” and can fully redeem and powerfully use even those who consider they have been “the worst” (1 Timothy 1:15). We believe God “is patient, not wanting any to perish but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9).
We believe all scripture is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe every believer in Christ is the “temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19). We believe we have been “baptized by one Spirit into one body” (1 Corinthians 12:13). and recognize the value and equality of all members of the body of Christ. We are “all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:29). We actively support the unity of all believers eclipsing all denominational, economic, or ethnic diversities.
We believe we have “different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:4). We believe “our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so they will be like His glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). “And so shall we forever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Until then, we believe we are to strive to “live holy and Godly lives as we look forward to the day of God” (2 Peter 3:12).
