In case you're thinking of buying a home soon, but you're worried about rising interest rates:
-A $500,000 payment at 3.5% interest with PITI (principle, interest, taxes, insurance) was ~$2,805 monthly
-A $400,000 payment at 6% is ~$2,903 monthly
Payment wise, the downward shifting market is not very dramatic. Prices have already adjusted down (a lot), as interest rates have risen (a lot). This is unfortunate if you have recently purchased a home. But if you're still looking to buy, you will already get a massive discount from what prices were 6 months ago, to compensate for higher interest rates.
