Just turned in mixes for the first session I got to use these on and all I have to say is wow. Easily the best mics in my collection. You are looking at a matched pair of restored Soviet tube microphones based on Oktava/LOMO tech from AEG in Moscow. Long journey to get here but safe and sound in AR : ) Thanks again for the recommendation - just wait till you see the preamps I got to match 😜

Fun project recently - all the parts were salvaged from an old ‘field telephone’ with the exception of the XLR connect. has a cool video where she demonstrates wiring up the transmitter/mic (which requires AA battery), but I also saw some designs where people utilized the receiver/speaker. I thought, ‘why not have both!?’ - so here the switch selects what the ‘source’ is. Lo-fi as all heck but super fun to have in the collection!

As some of you may have heard we have moved on from our space on the square. It was fun to bring the studio downtown for a little bit but happy to say it is back to the place where it all started. I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone that worked there, came to an event, or supported our growth. For now - wrapping up a few projects while also getting in some much needed TLC on this ol’ mess of gear. I will have updates on the website soon with new rates and outline of services. Tracking will be limited for the next few months while I get in the groove but please reach out in the meantime with any mix/master inquiries!

About a week ago I was fortunate enough to watch Dylan and his all-star band run through this record to a captive audience in Subiaco, AR at a Benedictine monastery founded in 1891 - which is also where is was recorded (how cool is that?!). Among other things, the monks there brew their own beer and enjoy an honest tune (see napkin for proof). It was a surreal experience and I’ve had two dreams about this place since then. The small auditorium sounds absolutely amazing and you can hear it in the record. Great songs, great production, great mix, great master. A moment to recognize the artists that made this and a heartfelt thanks for having me along. 🙏
