It Takes A Fierce Love To Make Independent Music Happen
We started Field of Nightmares Radio - FONR on the Winter Solstice in 2015 moreover as an act of Radio vandalism. We ended up creating an act of Musical love!
It was nothing, more or less, than a response to a calling...to create the space to share really good Independent Music with people.
Mainstream Music, Top 40 especially, is truly formulated hypnotism to brainwash the masses. We believe Independent Music allows us to transcend the corporate world that the “powers-that-be” would like us to live in. It facilitates free thought, which makes it more important than anything. Also, more dangerous! Think about it this way, Independent non-programmed Music gives you the chance to hear something different. This is Music, unapproved by the handful of corporations that make these decisions. They do this because you let them. Everyday you invite these makers of your life decisions into your car, home and head. You are constantly bombarded with socially-engineered excess media, music and news.
Here at Field Of Nightmares Radio, FONR we say, NO MORE! It is time that humans make their own Musical decisions, without corporate control. Hence the need for something totally different . When listening to our stations, one enjoys Music differently. Our listeners tell us they turn on the TV and shut off the sound. Then, as they used to back in the 70’s and 80’s, they turn up their computer stereos. We have been told that listening to Indie Music in such a way causes the world to ‘make more sense.’ Our mobile listeners tell us that when driving Field Of Nightmares Radio - FONR, Country Folk Radio and Old Friends Radio provide a better, happier Musical option. Many folks like to listen and drive, as they say, like the old days. Others leave FONR on all day while they work or play.
