Who better to bring back to life the sounds of the 1990s H.O.R.D.E. Tour than people who actually played on it? For fall 2022, Atlanta's The Core explores the music from the tour that proved a new generation of musicians could carry the torch inspired by classic rock. Wayne Healy (Freddy Jones Band, H.O.R.D.E. '94, guitar, vocal ) and Clay Fuller (Allgood Music Company, H.O.R.D.E '93, guitar) were part of that groundbreaking tour. Now they set out to recreate the music that fueled a generation joined by an equally accomplished crew of veteran Atlanta area musicians. The Core will recapture the energy and excitement of that tour by revisiting music by groups on that tour like The Allman Brothers Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, Black Crowes, Blues Traveler, Gov't Mule, Lenny Kravitz, Phish, The Samples and Widespread Panic as well as material from the Freddy Jones Band and Allgood.

Rounding out this all-star cast of musicians is Chris Queen (Phil Keaggy, Dreams So Real) on piano and B3 organ and anchored by the solid rhythm section of drummer Kevin Leahy (The Bodeans, Sugarland, Shawn Mullins), percussionist Rob Sumowski (Billy Pilgrim, Shawn Mullins, Kevn Kinney), and bassist Bill Taylor (The Bitteroots, Jupiter Coyote.)

Bringing Alex Lillie Music to the roster for 2022!

Hailing from Warner Robins, GA, Alex Lillie has spent the bulk of the past few years writing and recording new music for his upcoming debut album “Stones in the Ocmulgee”. Influenced by classic and southern rock, blues, jazz, country, and bluegrass, the album and live show offer a glimpse into a wide array of core American music genres. The album was recorded, and largely written, at Rowehouse Studio in Athens. David Rowe, formerly of Deacon Brody and The Spins, wore the many hats of engineer, producer, co-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. The pair are currently working on new material for a follow up album and will be playing the newer songs in their live shows along with a few favorite tunes by other artists.

Look for Alex Lillie shows later this summer!

As a soft breeze on a Georgia summer night, Alex Lillie’s music wraps the listener in a warm embrace.

So pleased to announce that Parts & Labor is joining the B. Taylor Artist Management roster for 2022. We've already got them on some shows this summer.

Based out of the musical hotbed of Macon, GA, Parts & Labor have been offering up their blend of rock n' roll, soul, and blues since the Spring of 2019. Heavily influenced by bands such as the Allman Brothers, The Band, the Grateful Dead, and plenty of funk, blues, and jazz along the way, Parts & Labor have been creating quite a buzz in Macon and beyond. The band first got together for a one-off gig in Macon for a private party in April of 2019. The vibe was good and they decided to keep the fires lit while they kept finding their own voice and getting the lineup just right. The Covid-19 pandemic gave the guys time to start writing and rehearsing original music which has been a total game-changer for the band. Their debut album, recorded at Capricorn Studios in Macon and mastered by John Keane in Athens, features 10 original songs and is available now...Be on the lookout for a show near you!

Bringing the insanely talented band, CalvertFountain, to the roster. Look for shows later this spring. Members consist of Brit La Palm (lead vocals, guitar), Justin Dale (lead guitar, vocals), Josh Denham (bass, vocals) and Michael Beavers (drums). This artistic collaboration was founded among the trees of the Appalachian mountains from where the band draws its name. Their musical tastes and backgrounds are varied and influences range from Tom Petty to Tom Morello. They perform with passion and strive to blend creative unity with innovative soundscapes in every song. In 2016 they were the winners of the Akademia award for best rock EP and were named one of Touchtunes breakout artists. They have been featured on 99X, iHeartradio and Album 88. The Bitteroots
Since its founding in 2008, the band’s groove-oriented approach to rock ‘n’ roll has drawn comparisons to the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin and has landed The Bitteroots onstage at some of the Southeast’s most prestigious festivals, including the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, the Sweetwater 420 Festival, the Summer Shade Festival, the Inman Park Festival, Stone Mountain Park’s Yellow Daisy Festival, and The Amplify Decatur Music Festival.

Driven by Laura Dees’ powerful, soulful lead vocals, The Bitteroots also include founding members Bill Taylor on bass and Mike Davis on drums. Saxophonist Derron Nuhfer joined the group in 2014, helping round out what has become the band’s unique sonic signature. In early 2018, The Bitteroots added the tasteful yet hard-driving PJ Poellnitz on guitar.

The Bitteroots have released six albums of original music with their latest, Try Me Again, released April 2021. Original albums include “French Fries” (2010), “Central of Georgia” (2012), “After The Rain” (2013), “Under The Big Sky” (2014) and "Derailer" (2019). The band also released a live album (“Live at The 120 Music Hall”) recorded in 2014.

The Bitteroots have shared the stage with: Butch Trucks (The Allman Brothers Band), Kool & The Gang, Mavis Staples, Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Everclear, Drivin’ N Cryin’, Freddy Jones Band, Allgood Music Company, Col. thE Core - Clapton Live

thE Core - Clapton Live brings together music industry veterans that are focused on the exploration of the timeless catalog of Eric Clapton. The band features the twin guitars of Clay Fuller (Allgood) & Wayne Healy (Freddy Jones Band) with Chris Queen (Phil Keaggy, Dreams So Real) on piano and B3 organ. Joining the band on backing vocals is Keisha Jackson (Outkast, Erykah Badu.) The band is anchored by the rhythm section of drummer Kevin Leahy (The Bodeans, Sugarland, Shawn Mullins), percussionist Rob Sumowski (Billy Pilgrim, Shawn Mullins, Kevn Kinney), and bassist Bill Taylor (The Bitteroots).

Clay Fuller - guitar, vocals

Before becoming part of thE Core, Clay Fuller played lead guitar for Athens Georgia’s, Allgood. In the late 1980s through mid-1990s Allgood delivered its twin-guitar, blues-based punch around the country while making three records for A&M Records. Allgood was a fixture on the then-emerging jam band scene, playing dozens of shows with Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, and Col. Bruce Hampton and ARU — including the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tour.

Wayne Healy - vocals, guitar

Wayne Healy is the vocalist and co-lead guitarist for thE Core. Wayne was a founding member/guitarist/vocalist for Freddy Jones Band. He wrote two number one AAA singles, "In A Daydream" and "Take The Time." While with Freddy Jones Band, the band released 5 major label records with Capricorn Records and performed over two hundred shows a year for over six years touring with The Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band and was prominent on the HORDE tour in the 90’s.

Keisha Jackson - vocals

Born the daughter of sassy, legendary soulstress Millie Jackson, Keisha began singing professionally at age 15 as a background vocalist for her mother. She later went on to record 2 albums with Sony Records. Keisha has contributed vocals on recordings with iconic artists like Aretha Franklin, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Da Brat and others. She has also toured with the likes of Outkast, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, George Clinton, Faith Evans and Raphael Saadiq.

Kevin Leahy - drums

Originally from New York, Kevin Leahy has spent more than two decades recording and touring with a variety of Americana and roots rock artists. He played drums on Shawn Mullins' 1998 multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated recording Soul's Core (Columbia Records), the BoDeans' 2004 release Resolution (Rounder Records), John Driskell Hopkins & Atlanta Pops Orchestra's 2015 collaboration In The Spirit: A Celebration of the Holidays, and various other recording projects with artists such as Ellis Paul, Tift Merritt, Chuck Brodsky, Evan McHugh, Coy Bowles & The Fellowship, Eliot Bronson, Tyler Reeve, Corey Smith and Beth Wood.

Kevin has also toured extensively with the BoDeans, Billy Pilgrim, The Jennifer Nettles Band and Geoff Achison, as well as Sugarland, Aslyn, Bloodkin, Ted Russell Kamp, Michelle Shocked, Art "Buddy" Edwards and John Austin. Currently residing in Atlanta, he regularly performs and records drums, timpani, mallet instruments and percussion in a number of settings. Kevin studied at the Manhattan School of Music pre-college program, and he is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Music, where he was a student of Kenny Aronoff.

Chris Queen - piano, organ, vocals

thE Core’s keyboard world is driven by Chris Queen who is a Hammond B3 player and Jazz Pianist who currently performs with Glass Harp, which features guitar virtuoso Phil Keaggy. Chris also spent 10 years touring with the funk project Mr. Tibbs, which included Ted Pecchio (Doyle Bramhall II, Susan Tedeschi) and a host of other notable players. The group played alongside groups from Parliament, Bernie Worrell, and the Bootsy Collins managed group, S**G. In addition, Chris has toured and performed with a wide variety of artists including Murray Attaway, Dreams So Real, Jackson Browne, Spencer Davis, and many others.

Rob Sumowski - percussion, vocals

Rob spent the 1990s as a percussionist touring with Gypsy Train, Shawn Mullins, Kevn Kinney (Drivin’n’Cryin’), Billy Pilgrim, Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Matthew Kahler, members of the John Mayer and Dave Matthews Bands, Moses Mo (Mother's Finest), and Caroline Aiken while based on the Atlanta and Macon club scenes. He performed at clubs such as CBGB’s in New York City and has shared the stage with Wilco, the Allman Brothers Band, Van Halen, Marshall Tucker, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Indigo Girls, Chuck Leavell, Jump Little Children, The Byrds, Memory Dean, Cake, the Steve Miller Band, Edwin McCain, Gov’t. Mule, Chet Atkins, Derek Trucks, and Cab Calloway.

Album credits span over 40 CDs, four of which include Columbia Records releases with Shawn Mullins, where Rob appeared on CD alongside Elton John, Shelby Lynne, and Shawn Colvin. As a songwriter, Rob penned the 1996 Gypsy Train album On a Wing and a Prayer as well as songs on the 1995 album Hayloft Nightmare, produced by Ron Blair of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

Bill Taylor - bass, vocals

Bill Taylor is a 30-year veteran of the Georgia music scene, playing hundreds of shows and producing 6 albums over the last decade in the Decatur-based, The Bitteroots. Bill holds Endorsed Artist status with both MTD Kingston Basses (Michael Tobias Design) and Bartolini Pickups & Electronics.

Allgood Music Company emerged from Athens, GA in the early 1990s, taking its high-energy guitar-driven blues-rock across the nation to the tune of roughly 200 shows a year. After securing a deal with A&M Records, Allgood was part of the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tour along with Blues Traveler, Widespread Panic, and Col. Bruce Hampton and the ARU. Over its eight-year initial run, Allgood took the stage at places ranging from Red Rocks to the Ranch Bowl [for real - a bowling alley] often appearing with other new bands like Dave Matthews Band, Gov't Mule, and Phish. At other times, Allgood opened for rock giants like The Band, Neil Young, and the Allman Brothers Band.

Mt Pilot formed in middle Georgia in 1992 with members from Nuclear Fishin’ and the Piedmont Cooks as well as other local musicians in middle Georgia. The band played the circuit from 1992-1995 developing a loyal following with live shows that are still talked about to this day. Made up of the 6 core members Chris Moorman, Mark Trawick, Terry Bragg, Scott Park, Evan Godbee and Travis Bryant, the band is back and stronger than ever. Performing mostly original songs played by seasoned musicians always leaves their audience wanting more.

“Mount Pilot has a penchant for writing songs” was quoted in a Gateway Macon article sighting the band as one of the Top 5 Influential Bands of the 90’s. Concentrating on the music first was the most important goal while allowing the fans to forget about their problems and escape into the magical fusion of the lyrics and the individual musician’s interpretations of the songs. Each musician has a storied and diverse background including Master’s degrees in music to Master’s degrees in living on the road that gives a perfect recipe of musical distinction.

The band has shared the stage with acts including Drivin’ and Cryin’, Brother Cane w/Chuck Leavell, The Derek Trucks Band, The Winters Brothers Band, The Outlaws and many others developing deep connections to top musicians across the state. Musical guests join them on stage regularly leaving their fans wondering who might be sitting in at the next Mount Pilot show.
