It was love at first sight when I chanced upon these rattan end tables. My DIY BFF @Deborah recently refinished an identical table in a gorgeous beige paint wash so I already had a glimpse into their future. After stripping the outdated dark finish, I did a light wash and then a darker wash, and voila!
Steps:
1. Strip: I used GreenEZ on one table and QCS on the other so I could figure out which I liked best. Both are safe for people, pets and plants and work great. I love both but GreenEZ might be a little easier for beginners. My affiliate code is ShellyChic10 if you want to try either.
2. Sanded
3. Paint wash using 1:4 Millstone: water. Millstone has apparently been discontinued. I think Bedford or Cathedral Taupe by Fusion Minersl would be good alternatives.
4. Wash with 1:3 van dyke brown glaze/graystone : water
5. Seal with flat topcoat

I got this tufted ottoman from a girlfriend a few years ago. I loved it, but it had stains on it and the dark gray didn’t go with my decor after my bedroom makeover (scroll to see that one). It was going to go on the curb so I decided to paint it! And it was probably the easiest, most beginner-friendly DIY I have ever done.
How to paint fabric without it cracking or being brittle using latex paint.
Spray it with a misting water bottle one section at a time and then paint that section (I used Nano White by SW because I had it leftover from my walls). Paint the 1st coat. Let it dry. don’t panic when it feels like sandpaper. SAND IT with a 220 grit sanding block and it will soften right up. REPEAT (mist, paint, sand) until it’s the color you want.
NOTE paint it a darker color than the fabric if possible or you’ll need at least 3 coats of paint. I’m a glutton for punishment!
I ended up not sealing it because it’s in my bedroom and not the living room, but I did this almost a year ago and it’s held up beautifully. I sealed the ottomans in my 8-year-old’s room with a regular furniture poly.

This vintage wardrobe was in pretty rough shape when I got it. As soon as I saw it, I envisioned Pottery Barn’s Sausalito armoire. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I love it.
After removing the curves that dated it, I stripped it, sanded it, built a base out of 2 x 2s, paint-washed and then glazed it. I replaced the glass with cane, sealed it and here she is!

How to remove paint residue after stripping furniture⤵️
Either this dresser was prepped, primed and painted exceptionally well, or I didn’t wait long enough to strip it. Either way, I was left with quite a lot of paint residue after scraping this drawer. So heres what i did:
STEPS
1. Brush on a liberal amount of GreenEZ stripper to cover the entire surface.
2. Cover with plastic wrap.
3. Let sit for 2+ hours (I usually end up leaving it overnight and think I stripped this one too soon)
4. Remove plastic wrap and spray with GreenEZ finish cleaner
5. Scrape with putty knife
6. Spray with finish cleaner and remove residue with 0000 steel wool
7. Wipe with rag

I found these end tables on Facebook Marketplace, paid for them sight unseen and fell absolutely in love with them when I saw them in person. I knew immediately that I wanted to lighten the finish so I stripped them and did a paint wash. Not only is paint washing a beautiful and popular finish, the margins are great because you only need a few spoonfuls of paint. Since I was gifted the stripper, I had very little money invested in these. Although I’d typically sell a set like this for considerably more, I needed to sell them quickly because I was out of space. They were purchased by the sweetest young woman 3 weeks before becoming a homeowner for the first time. I could not have been happier to send them off with her.

We are in the car A LOT and my daughter’s friends are always asking why my car is full of trash. Hmm I wonder where it comes from! 🤦🏼♀️ Where’re my mama friends? My daughter actually asked if we could keep a trash bag back there. When I wrapped a grocery bag around the belt buckle, she asked if we could have a pretty garbage. So I grabbed a plastic cereal storage tub from the Dollar Tree; sprayed it with white paint; “made it pretty” with some glue and a napkin; and then added a strip of Velcro to the bottom so the kids could take turns emptying it when it’s full. We tested it out tonight on the way home from gymnastics and it was a huge success! And the best part—my car is clean (dog hair doesn’t count)!

#AD This dresser was absolutely plastered with baby blue paint. So I grabbed my @greenez_ stripper kit and stripped both the blue paint and the stain that was on the top. After a light sand and paintwash, I sealed it with GreenEZ furniture seal and it was sold and picked up within seven hours of listing it.
What do you think? Are you team baby blue or do you prefer brown and beige? This has somehow become quite controversial.

Details HERE👇🏽I found this dresser for $85 on Facebook Marketplace and absolutely loved it. The seller was moving to California and just needed it gone. Done! After stripping the dark finish, I did a paint wash to accentuate the gorgeous wood grain. HERE👇🏽If you are looking for a gift for Mother’s Day, a housewarming, a party hostess, someone in bereavement, a teacher — I could go on and on — this is it. I think I first saw this onPinterest, but it was @ninas_wohnwely beautiful idea and I 💗 it.One of my dearest friends just had surgery and I knew she’d be receiving lots of flowers, but I still wanted her to know I was thinking of her. So I made her this pretty boho chic candle holder with an old vase, some heavy duty double-sided tape, straws leftover from a party and tiny flowers, and it turned out even prettier than I had envisioned.#diygift #diygiftideas #easydiy #candleholderdiy #diycandleholder #candleholder
Details HERE👇🏽When a girlfriend texted to tell me this vintage Dixie dresser was FREE in her neighbor’s yard, I raced over! I planned to restore it but for oh-so-many-reasons, I had to go with plan B. With the exception of the drawer pulls, all the other supplies were gifted to me by the stripper, paint and countertop companies so I had almost no money invested in it (just a whole lot of love and time). I absolutely love how it turned out AND it sold (in a matter of hours!) to (the sweetest) repeat customer who I adore even more than the dresser!
