An early morning fire on Interstate 10 involving a semi-truck hauling a front-end loader caused traffic delays at the Holt Exit.
At approximately 3:20 am this morning, Thursday, October 31st, Holt Fire District was dispatched to the east bound exit ramp of Interstate 10 which is located at the 45 mile-marker. A short time later, a deputy with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and blocked the exit ramp as well as the outside east bound lanes of Interstate 10.
Upon arrival of Holt Volunteer Fire Department all east bound lanes of Interstate 10 were temporarily closed as they extinguished the fire which was located at the trailer axles.
The driver of the semi was able to disconnect the truck from the trailer and move it to the side of the road before first responders arrived.
East bound lanes of Interstate 10 were reopened a short time later.
