Just a few showers left over from the line that passed through. It did cool the temps down. There is a low chance that storms that fire along the dryline in west Texas could make their way East to the DFW area after 3am overnight. The chance is less than 20%. Then the heat builds in later this week.

Still looking at sub-severe winds, latest observation out of Denton is 38 MPH and this trend with gusty winds will continue. Lightning and rainfall rates up to 1 inch an hour will be the other concerns. Flash flooding potential is looking relatively low, but certainly keeping an eye on it with our highly saturated soils across the area.

Heavy but not severe storms are approximately 32 miles from the Denton/Wise County line, Moving at 35mph. I don’t think this line will turn severe but it’s spring so we do need to watch out.
7:50pm update…Thunderstorms continue to develop over the Texas Panhandle this evening will merge into one or more eastward tracking storm complexes late tonight. The primary threat will be damaging winds and large hail. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Heavy rain may also cause flooding in some areas. As storms move into the Denton County area overnight, please make sure to leave your phone on and nearby to ensure you receive any warnings issued. You should also check the weather and road conditions before driving tonight or tomorrow morning.
