60 years ago today, August 9, 1964, the Diocesan Administration Building was dedicated by the Most Reverend Ernest J. Primeau, S.T.D., a wonderful opportunity for the Diocese of Manchester to have a central location for its various ministries.
The building, located at 153 Ash Street in Manchester, is now in need of significant safety, mechanical and structural compliance updates. From September 2024 to September 2025, the roof will be replaced, fire suppression and smoke detection systems will be installed, and measures will be taken to meet current occupancy code requirements. In addition, the original heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems will be replaced with modern equipment that will ensure reliant and healthy air flow throughout the building.
This work will require the temporary relocation of the Diocesan Administration Building staff. Employees will work at various locations for a one year period. The Office of the Bishop, Vicars General, Chancellor, Temporalities, Finance, Human Resources, and Communications and Development will work from 1855 Elm Street in Manchester.
