On February 17th, a major fire destroyed the historic clubhouse at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. 100 years old, Oakland Hills is a pillar of professional golf in the U.S, hosting 17 Major Championships and the Ryder Cup. In 1981 Arnold Palmer won the Senior Open at Oakland Hills and became the first player to win the U.S. Amateur, the U.S. Open and the Senior Open. Because of the fire, the club's loyal and longtime employees--many who have worked there for generations--now face unemployment. It will be more that a year before they can return to their jobs. To honor the historic connection between Arnie and Oakland Hills, the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation is matching all contributions to a special fund to help employees of Oakland Hills. Foundation President Ken Boehner joins us Sunday on Tee To Green with more information about how you can help.
The USGA has created a new National Championship, for golfers with disabilities. The first U.S. Adaptive open will be played in July at Pinehurst and Julia Pine with the USGA will be dropping by with more details.

This is Scott Cutty. For the past decade, Scott has been the in-studio producer/engineer for Tee To Green at our Network Syndicator Sports Byline, based in San Francisco. He has mixed the show, fired network tones, called our guests, played commercials and music, kept the hosts in line and made us sound really good. Besides the professional relationship, Scott has become a dear friend. Recently, Scott had a medical emergency and nearly died. Because of his health, he is leaving SportsByline and taking early retirement. He has worked his last Tee To Green broadcast. As I said many times on-air, he is the best in the business. I have been fortunate to work with many great producers and engineers in over 45 years in broadcasting, but Scott is the best. THANK YOU Scott. We will miss you.
Because of Scott's absence, we have been running recorded shows for the last four weeks. Tee To Green returns with a new producer and a live show this Sunday. Our guests are teaching pro Jake Thurm and Ted Eleftheriou with the National Golf Foundation

Love..love...love the Solheim Cup. The best event in Women's Sports delivered once again over the holiday weekend in Ohio with a fantastic mix of great golf, drama, glamor, controversy and excitement as the American team tried to take the Cup back from Team Europe, but came up short. As usual, in match play, the team that putts best wins and that's what we saw in 3 days of hard-fought competition.. Congrats to the Euros who grabbed a big lead on Day One and held off a determined U.S. comeback for their second consecutive Solheim victory. The European team was filled with good, young players who no longer feel uncomfortable or intimidated by the Americans and their fans. Many of them live in the U.S. and played college golf at American schools (8 of them), so they are used to American golf, American golf courses, American fans and being in the spotlight. The U.S. will have it's hands full on enemy soil in Spain in two years trying to prevent a European three-peat.

So excited to bring you a super Father's Day edition of Tee To Green this Sunday. Besides being a special day for all Dads, Sunday will mark the 22nd Anniversary of Payne Stewart's memorable U.S. Open victory at Pinehurst in 1999. It's an effort to create more golf opportunities for families with kids to learn and play golf, especially for kids in need and inner-city families. Foundation COO Dan Anderson joins us to tell us how they are helping young golfers learn the game that Payne Stewart loved.

Father's Day is almost here and if you're stumped about what to get Dad this year, we can help, especially if he loves golf. Last year, author Luke Reese penned a touching memoir titled "One for the Memory Banks" -- a poignant tale of a decades long friendship with his late golfing buddy and mentor, Alan Bond. Critics have called it part travelogue, part biography and part memoir and it would make a great Father's Day gift. This week, Luke Reese returns to the show to talk about his friend who inspired the book.

Since it began in 2007, Patriot Golf Day, thru the Folds of Honor Foundation, has provided over 10-thousand academic scholarships for family members of fallen and disabled veterans. Since its inception, Patriot Golf Day has been held on Labor Day Weekend. That is changing this year. For the first time, it is taking place this weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, in conjunction with the holiday that honors our fallen men and women of the military. Chris Nowak with PGA HOPE (Help Our Patriots Everywhere) joins us Sunday to talk about the move and the movement and how golfers everywhere can do their part to honor our fallen heroes. patriotgolfdays.com
The sports world is still buzzing over last week's historic win by almost 51-year old Phil Mickelson at the PGA Championship. Who better to help put it into perspective than Tom Edrington of Dogleg News who returns to the show to talk about Phil, the Brooks vs Bryson feud and the latest on Tiger's re-hab.
