The Geeker Report was originally a printed publication, but in the future will be an online sports news source that reports on local, state, national, and international sports news, thereby creating revenue to invest in the lives of young athletes in Wayne County and Eastern North Carolina. The first issue of The Geeker Report was published in April 2011. In conjunction with the first publication,
we partnered with several local agencies to hold the 1st Annual G. Awards where we gave out over 200 awards. It was held April 5, 2011, at the Paramount Theatre, and there were over 400 people in attendance. Awards was held at Goldsboro High School. We gave out over 200 awards and there were over 400 people in attendance. Again this year we are honoring some of the top basketball players and coaches in Wayne County. We are also partnering with the Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Department to honor some of the athletes who participated in their Winter Basketball League. It is our hope that this kind of publicity will help motivate these young athletes to make positive choices which propel them to success in every area of their lives.
