Today was one of those days I'm mad grateful for my job and position. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love writing in ALL forms. My first foray was through journalism as a freshman at Horizon Science Academy. Fast forward 19 years later and now I'm a journalism teacher in Santa Monica. Today, I got to meet an alumnus of the school, THEE J.A. Adande. Watched him on Around the Horn and cover the NBA for years. Well, he just recently got inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for Writing. And he came to speak to my students and shared his journey which was amazing. 14 year old me got to meet one of his heroes today, and his spark for writing at 13 got him there. Education was and will ALWAYS be the key.

Grateful is today's mood...
