Geekin' with Geiken - the geekiest show on WPCD is moving to Fridays at 8:30 am. Join station director Deane Geiken as he and helmsman, Rob Goode navigate the USS Geekerprise around the galaxy, exploring the many worlds of geek and nerd culture and events. The return of the LOCAL HOUR! Tune in on Saturday nights from 9 - 10 pm with DJ host Henri Turner to hear some of the newest and best music from local artists from all over central Illinois! Calling all Central Illinois bands! We are trying to revive our Local Music Hour here at WPCD and we need your music! If you have any music that you have produced in the last year or so, we would love it if you shared it with us! It can be any genre but it must be your original work, be FCC clean (or at least edited) and be produced reasonably well.

If you are willing to share your music with us, please send downloads or links to [email protected].

Please include in the subject line, "WPCD Local Music Submission" and in the body of the email, the name of your band, where you are from, when the submitted music was produced, and anything else you would like us to know!

It was a while back in 2021 when Gina Miles (pictured on left) came to the WPCD studios to premier her first song "Fever" on the station. Well, fast forward a few years ago and look who is killing it on the show "The Voice!" A native of Paxton Il. and incredibly talented, WPCD is happy to say we knew her when she was just getting started and we are incredibly proud of where she is now! Her original song, "Fever" is still playing in our rotation and we hope that when all is said and done at "The Voice" we can invite her back to the studio to catch up! Next week, she competes in the voting round and we wish her the best of luck!

In COM 141: Basic Broadcast Announcing you can build the groundwork for audio technical skills using the latest software and equipment needed to succeed in any sort of media production; be it podcasting, streaming, news and sports reporting, radio DJ, or working in careers requiring knowledge of audio production.
