Kcbs-fm friends, thanks for being a fan of this San Francisco radio station from the early 80s- just a note from my current studio to you, to wish you all a very merry Christmas. I’m happy to have started my SF radio career on this station, working with legends like John Mac Flanagan, Sean Conrad, Dierdre Gentry and J Parker Antrim, to name just a few. And behind the scenes the staff was awesome- very much like WKRP, we were the “little” station that didn’t become #1 but had heart, fun, and allowed me to create the CBS Beatles Hour all those years ago.

One of my favorite Rockstar interviews has to be the legendary Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane, and Starship. In honor of her 83rd birthday I’m opening the vault to replay the interview along with some of her mist loved songs. Grace did not suffer fools, spoke her mind always, and has always been a strong minded, charismatic personality, and that’s what I love about her! She says exactly what she thinks, and also has a surprisingly self-deprecating sense of humor.
We did an interview at her Home in Marin for n 1984, where she made me tea and we talked about everything from her solo album to Star Wars, lol. We again met up at the Record Plant in Sausalito to talk about the story behind the album with Grace and her producer Ron Nevison.
