We produce Emmy-nominated motion pictures that explore our human relationship to the ocean and the outdoors. Our client base includes television broadcasters, museums, foundations, non-governmental groups, schools, and travel companies. We have an in-house staff of eight, and we draw from an active network of outdoor production personnel from over 50 countries worldwide. Our interest in emerging t
echnologies drives us to continually explore new and different ways to visually articulate our experience of the world. In 2003, we created and developed a new format of television called “Experiential” or "Slow TV," born from our Sunrise Earth series (Discovery). In 2007, we co-founded BlueMarvel, a distributor of Slow TV programming. Beginning in 2011, we've developed video installations for gallery exhibition and museums. In 2015, we produced our first Ultra High Definition 4K on-demand video-streaming content, released as a 20-episode series titled Big Picture Earth (CuriosityStream). Since 2011, we have worked with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones) in filming UHD 4K aerial footage in various locations—everywhere from national parks in Utah to volcanic landscapes in Iceland.
