Band of Bards Comics
Band of Bards was borne of a desire to collect oral histories from Veterans, record them with the National Archives, and then publish these stories as comics and graphic novels. We wanted to bridge the Civil/Military Divide in American society with a media format that properly served the subject matter while also being entertaining and widely accessible. The stories of
all Veterans - all services, eras, ranks, military specialties, and experiences - are underserved. Often if a story does not involve something glamorous or action packed the story is ignored. As we looked around American society in totality we recognized so many more underserved areas. This has driven us to expand the mission of Band of Bards to serve as a cataract for bringing these stories to a wider market. We will serve as a platform for a collective of creators with something unique to share with the world. Band of Bards stands apart as a rallying point for storytellers needing support in getting their books into the hands of readers. Simply put there are so many wonderful stories being left behind and it is to our own detriment. We seek to play our part in correcting this, producing high quality comics with enrapturing stories while serving a larger ideal. We stand for:
