The program that really got me into Notation and then morphed into Logic, by Emagic in Berlin. Great company and great products. Apple bought them in early 2000s and upped their game in the audio realm but never really did much to the notation or midi side of things, other than to hide the Environment.

To this day, I'll use Logic's notation, even though i have dabbled and even taught Finale to students despite it never being something i used regularly. By Finale, i won't miss you.

If I am using a bonafide notation program it's going to be Sibelius. Maybe....

I was entering my 3rd semester at Berklee and got to enroll in the newly formed Music Synthesis major under the direction of David Mash of Mashine Music
We got to work with these first MacIntosh computers that we thought were just fine.

I'll post more on the hardware and software we used as well.
Of course Midi just came out as well

Jupiter 6 or 8, Juno-106
Kurzweil K250 and Midiboard 1.0
Oberheim Xpander
Yamaha TX816, 8 DX7s in a Rack
Some early reverb and drum machine i can't remember exactly. I think the drum machine was the Yamaha RX7.

MOTU Performer 1.0
Opcode Galaxy editing software

I got a great jump start into music production in 1987 when i graduated and started recording records and playing out.
Early tracks using midi, sequenced synth lines, programming cool and original synth sounds - the ones they all tell me today are cliche and dated....

A seminal event from my 20s. Back from school for my final summer in Chicago area. I had a pretty big party and we all sat around and watched this unfold. I also recorded on VHS tape, which by a long time ago completely faded into nothing.
You can still probably see a bit of the Zepplin performance that the band banned from ever showing on official material. Plant was either on coke or hungover or something, the worst i have ever heard him sing. The interesting part was having Phil Collins play drums for their short set.
Overall the show was great, Queen was the highlight, imo. Little did we know Freddie was starting to deal with Aids himself and would pass away not long after.
I watched the tape for years after. That was the age of all the different collabs like We Are The World, etc.
Great times.

Hey All, It's Bandcamp Friday again, meaning all proceeds from downloads go directly to the artist.

If you are a fan and wanted to help out, this is a good way to do so. Spotify and Apple Music don't really put anything, and while this is not a lot, it's more helpful than a spotify or apple music stream.

I've released two new songs to Bandcamp. One has been fully released but is still likely to get another mix.
The other song - Sing to You, is a pre-release slated for March and may sound different so give it shot.

Thanks and Enjoy
