Country Music Hall of Famer and member of The Oak Ridge Boys Joe Bonsall passed today (7/9) from complications of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. He was 76. Bonsall has been a member of the Oaks for 50 years, retiring from the road earlier this year (CAT 1/3). Joining the long-running quartet in 1973, Bonsall offered tenor vocals to hits including "I'll Be True To You," "Elvira," "Bobbie Sue," "American Made" and "Love Song." They were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, daughters Jennifer and Sabrina, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Boil Water Notice
Due to a loss of water pressure caused during the repair of a water leak, the City of Blountstown is issuing a precautionary boil water notice to all City of Blountsown Water customers that experienced the water outage All water used for drinking, cooking, washing fruits or vegetables, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing dishes should be boiled.

Businesses should post notices or disable drinking water fountains and ice machines during this notice.

This precautionary boil water notice shall remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a Bacteriological Survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

This notice only applies to water customers that experienced the outage that occurred today, June 18, 2024.

Tornado watch has been posted for Washington, Jackson, Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Liberty and Franklin counties. This watch goes until 2 pm central time. The line of storms from Walton to Jackson county will continue to slowly progress to the east. The main threat from these storms is heavy rain and gusty winds. Quick rotation is possible with any storm so isolated tornadoes will remain possible. As the line moves east of your area the threat will end at your location.
