What happens with a rained out baraat?

Well, the show must go on, as it certainly did during Raja and Shweta's wedding at the beautiful Westin Copley hotel in Boston. We must have checked the weather app a million times with our groom, Raja who was adamant he roll up in his sports car. Everything was set to shut down a major street in Boston, but the rain Gods had other plans. I promised Raja that we would not skip a beat and took over the awning, the escalators, and an entire floor!

It is always a delight to work with our dear friends Thuy and Neal from Fern and Feather Studios (did you know they met at a BSL gig, and are now married?). It must be the music. lol

The 2024 banquet at the @bostonmarriottburlington was an absolute blast. The show kicked off with two awesome MCs, Mandy and Sheetal who set the tone for the entire night. The brains and looks behind the show, @drmanjusheth and Upendra Mishra dotted the most amazing lineup, from classical dancing to my homies at @dincheckband who performed their first ever single live!! There were quite a few people already celebrated and I’d love to give a hearty congratulations to our Woman of the year. However, there is no banquet or function or party without a vibe. Much props to my ACE, @djrandeep from @vibezentertainment who rocked out all night with music, @artandmemories who captured these memories, my partners in crime @sraveo who has taken over the production that past few years, @gourmetindia1995 @tashanbedford who provided a splendid assortment of Indian delicacies, @alankarboston who decked the place out. When I’m asked as to the best party I’ve ever been a part of, without hesitation it was my own wedding. Being in the industry, you quickly learn that you only survive if you love what you do, and love the people you are doing it for. 14 years ago I married the love of my life! And so naturally our celebration was one for the ages. My godma, Shobha aunty was still with us. We had 50 uplights, movers, 8 box speakers, 4 subs, cdjs, ice sculptures, and things unheard of back then. Three straight days of top shelf pouring. Even my 95 year old grandpops was taking shots with us. Most importantly, we had our closest (ahem) 550 people jamming out with us. We flew in the Khelayia Band from Mumbai for the Garba, my bro @amitpaddle on the dhol and the don @djsuhel tearing it up all night at the reception. @tanviyrana and I went thru our wedding album today (big props to my fam @muskaanvideo , @sukhy_k )and sure the wedding market has matured, but our wedding can still hold its own.
