I'm thrilled to share "Next Chapter," a commercial for which I had the privilege of providing the voiceover for the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®! 🎙️✨ It's been running for about a month now and I couldn't be happier of the final result. 🏡💼

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to David Rosenthal of Global Voice Acting Academy for suggesting me as part of this campaign. And for the connection to Lisa Ristau of Impressive Talent 🙏🏼 for submitting me. FYI-the backdrop of this graphic design is designed with shapes from quilts by African Americans along the Underground Railroad. I took my time to research an appropriate design that was meaningful to me and that reflects the history and culture.

Great Read alert…

That’s why it’s important for business leaders to read to gain insight, develop empathy and improve skills.

I just started reading “Tough” by Terry Crews and I’m already locked in. In this autobiography we get a chance to peek into his “origin story” as a troubled young man and witness the change that literally saved his life and career. It’s compelling how Terry Crews learned to be a different man.

Were you ever considered the "Different one?"

Were you ever called "odd," "strange," or even "weird?" 🤔

Sometimes you may have felt like you were doing everything all wrong because you've always made your own path. You've always blazed your own trail. (psst...that's what Trailblazers do!) 😉

There are people who will question your fitness to do something worthy (a new business idea, a huge new project, a ministry effort). They may say to themselves (or to you), "We've never done things that way before," "That will never work!" "How dare they be different?"

It gets easy to question your own competency when you have never seen it done before. However...

I suggest that you consider the possibilities of blazing that trail, creating that new path, doing things the best way you know how! Sure it may be scary, you may get some bumps and bruises AND you don't know exactly how to accomplish the task at hand.

BUT you can never be victorious if you don't try! God has wired you to do great things.

Be bold and courageous. Seek Him out, discover your purposes and follow through!

Maaaannn...let me tell you!

When I first opened up the email tonight from Joan Baker about the Audition Spotlight from CBS Los Angeles, I thought to myself, "wow, Top 40 Callbacks have been selected...that's nice." I totally skipped the "Congratulations" part! 😅 But I kept staring at the email on my phone and then I'm like..."YOOO! I made the TOP 40!" 🤩

My wife had just arrived home from picking up the bambinos from school. I ran upstairs (phone in hand) to show her the email. She saw it and we immediately lifted hands, shouted and Praised the LORD! 🙌🏼😄 YES...it got a little loud for a minute!

I'm grateful for the opportunity to be in the Top 40 out of 1750! I'm excited, my family is excited (my tween daughter thinks we are moving to LA!) 😄

I appreciate Joan Baker, Rudy Gaskins and SOVAS for everything you do for the VO community. I'm looking forward to connecting with other talented professionals at That's Voiceover Career Expo. Let's GOO!

Have you ever struggled with the idea that you don't belong? Meaning, you don't deserve the job, the spouse, the home, the accolades... i.e., the blessings that you've acquired?

If we are honest, you may find that it's happened several times. How do you combat that? Gratitude is one way that I fight against it. You can trust that “You are where you are for a reason.” Check out the video (please excuse the minor glitches) and see if anything resonates. Let me know if it does! 😊

Yesterday, I had the wonderful pleasure to participate in the Annual Storybook Character Day at one of Baltimore City Public Schools awesome Elementary/ Middle Schools. I was assigned the third grade class and read Dancing in The Wings by Debbie Allen and illustrated by Kadir Nelson. The little people were so wonderful.

This year, the school librarian, Ms. Carter, shared how important it is for males (particularly men of color) to read to their little scholars. She also shared how the impact of the pandemic exposed reading and learning gaps since the return to in person learning. So, yesterday I relished in being able to create characters while reading to these beautiful souls. And to top it off, several students shared “you have a good reading voice Mr. Sellers!” 😊
I don’t do much audiobook Narration but I must say, Children’s literature is my favorite genre of audiobook Narration. It definitely helps get all of those silly voices out in the open! 😄
