Austin Drum and Piano lessons is a studio run by local musician Alan Eckert. Over ten years of experience in instruction,performance and production.

Teaching Philosophy

I bring my experience in all corners of the music industry into the lesson while meeting each student’s individual needs. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, and the key to success is ENJOYMENT! While reading skills, coordination skills, rudiments, scales and fundamentals are a major focus in the lessons, I strive to explore the music that the students love listen

ing to. Discovering music that is special to you and learning from it has endless benefits. I encourage playing along to songs that students enjoy. This keeps things fun and makes the fundamentals more relevant as you are applying them in a musical way.
