Today is Jackie's last day in person here at Same Sky. She’s been an important part of our team and the studio’s journey. We are thrilled she’ll be staying on remotely to help with studio management but she will surely be missed here for the day to day foolishness and musicing. Best of luck on the next adventure! SXSW was finally BACK this year and we’re excited to share a recap of everything we got into this past week.

We started the week hosting the an event for Greg Casar and 7 other Congresspeople including Rep. Lloyd Doggett and Maxwell Alejandro Frost, former State Senator Wendy Davis and a whole host of local Austin music industry leaders including Austin Classical Guitar, Austin Texas Musicians, Tim Palmer, Gold Rush Vinyl, Recording Academy / GRAMMYs, and José Garza with a special performance from . Not a bad start, if we do say so ourselves…

We already posted that we had the pleasure of having RZA of Wu-Tang Clan in the studio on Sunday, but it’s freaking RZA so it absolutely bears repeating.

We also hosted a writing session with Chris White and Greg Camp of The Defiant. We got to hear a sneak peek of The Defiant’s debut record which we’ll be excited to hear in full when it comes out.

Then we got to work with our FIRST Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Zombies, for a KUTX 98.9 livestream, and honestly, pinch us because we must be dreaming! It was a pleasure working with Rod Argent, Colin Blunstone and Jody Denberg for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Lastly, we had Taylor Hanson and Cory Wong of Vulfpeck in the studio to write some funky pop greatness.

Needless to say, we’re still recovering, but damn… it was a good

It would be a beautiful day to ring the bell.

Ringing the bell tower is a Same Sky tradition for every artist we produce to mark the completion of their record. 🔔🔔🔔
