This illustrates the recurring problem I'm having in closing and cleaning up Keplinger Designs...
I'm going along, shredding old client records - invoices, emails, notes, 99% crap, no worries. Then I hit this kind of stuff. History. Do I save it, see if the MOM wants it, find someone who wants it, or just pitch it. Old event photos, credentials, programs and collateral that we created. The dreamer in me says find it a home, the practical guy says, it's all crap, goodbye...

When FFW Mod Motor ruled the World!

It’s time to start counting…
One of the hardest parts of closing a business is the shredding of the business files. Necessary, but difficult. And occasionally heartfelt.
With each old invoice, with each old check stub, fax, note, email, the memories of each job can easily become overwhelming, so you have to just shut it off, and do the job at hand. But, every once in a while, one breaks through and grabs you by the heart.
Currently working my way through 2006, and got to the letter that we’d sent out to our clients announcing our rate increase to $130 an hour. We never changed rates again, despite all the changes in the economy, inflation, interest rates, etc. That letter went into the “Keeper” file.
Then there are each year’s Christmas cards. This one, from the parents of an old friend of mine, thanked me for helping my friend break into the business, get to PRI, meet some people, and maybe learn some things. Things that I never gave a second thought about doing, simple things that I’d do many times over during the 29 years of Keplinger Designs. Things got a bit dusty in the office. That card went to the “Keeper” file, too.
It's time to start counting blessing, and be warmed and grateful for them.

Happy Thursday!

I walked out of the grocery and it caught my eye across the parking lot, made me smile! I had to hear its story. Left a T2PS card on the window, Becky Lallerstedt called me right back! Smiled again. Her 1965 Datsun 1200 (320) pick up makes people smile where ever she goes. We hope this little truck picks up your day, too.

This was another fun shoot with Steve Simpson's cars!
Are you next?

We first met Steve Simpson with his '1000+HP Sleeper' Camaro (July 22, 2021, Volume 1, Issue 2). Now it's time to take a look at his 'Driver' - This 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS! Built for street driving, this Nova looks great on the road and in The Two Page Spread.
Thank you, Brandon Conner, Attitude Street Cars for arranging this great feature.

This beautiful 1973 BMW 3.0 CS has been in the Sanderson family since Dr. Dick Sanderson bought new it from a dealership in Scottsdale Arizona. Son, Tom, is the current caretaker in Georgia, where he keeps it in good health and drives it frequently, often to the local car shows including Caffeine and Octane. Check it out at the shows and here on The Two Page Spread.

If there were only one thing I could for the rest of my life, it'd be shooting cars!
Bob Schultz's beautiful 1973 Ford Maverick (well, as he says, that's how it left the factory!) smiled for the camera tonight.
Thank you, Bob.

Dale Millwood's 1970 Chevrolet C10 is the story of perseverance - Over 5 years to convince the owners to sell it to him, then another 4 years to bring it back to its now show-worthy, cruise-ready condition. Cruise on...

I first met Dale and his C10 at Atlanta's Caffeine and Octane monthly car show. I'm looking forward to seeing him at the next one, with his T2PS poster!

It's that time of year when cars come out of hiding, the days are long, and the camera is happy!
Derek Stoddard and I met at Carroll county's John Tanner park to shoot his 1974 VW Sun Bug. The Sun Bug was a one-year only offering and limited to 900 cars - 300 Beetles, 300 Super Beatles, and 300 Convertibles. I wanted to shoot his Sun Bug with a beach, and Tanner park delivered.
