The AJC Peachtree Road Race is the world's largest 10K, held annually on July 4th in Atlanta, GA. From just 110 finishers completing the first race in 1970, the AJC Peachtree Road Race now welcomes 60,000 runners and walkers and hundreds of thousands of spectators to enjoy Independence Day in Atlanta.

Applications close soon 🚨 Non-profit organizations can now apply for the Peachtree with a Purpose Official Charity Partner Program, a unique opportunity to raise awareness and funds for a charitable cause, until Monday, February 17. This program offers 10 eligible 501(c)(3) organizations a chance to be part of the prestigious AJC Peachtree Road Race while making a meaningful impact in the community. If your organization meets the eligibility criteria, submit your application before the deadline on Monday for a chance to participate in this program.

When Nick "Turbo" Benson first heard about the Peachtree T-shirt Design Contest, he knew he wanted to submit a design that captured the essence of Peachtree but was also a design he would like to wear, as someone who had completed the AJC Peachtree Road Race in prior years.

As a result, his design, coined "Peach Planet ATL," ended up on tens of thousands of T-shirts last Fourth of July and he took home the largest cash prize in history: $5,500.

We caught up with Nick in our latest Wingfoot Magazine article, recounting his experience from hearing about the contest to finding out that he won and hearing any advice he might have for artists wanting to submit a design this year. Taking place during Publix Atlanta Marathon Weekend, some of the fastest half marathoners in the country will compete for a spot on Team USATF at the World Athletics Road Running Championships San Diego 25. 📽️ WATCH LIVE on Atlanta Track Club’s YouTube channel starting at 6:30 a.m. EST or spectate in person at the Home Depot Backyard.

📅 Saturday, May 17 – adidas Atlanta City Games at Piedmont Park. Watch Olympians, World Champions, and hometown legends compete on an elevated straight-away track through the meadow of Piedmont Park! Spectating is free and open to the public. Broadcast information will be revealed at a later date.

📅 Friday, July 4 – Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Elite Race. Join us for a Fourth of July party like no other at the Peachtree! Race the iconic 10K for yourself from Lenox Square to Piedmont Park, and tune into the Elite race that is guaranteed to bring blazing times. Registration for the lottery will open on April 1 and close on April 30. Stay tuned for more information on the elite race and broadcast.

Today, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Atlanta Track Club members can register for the winter edition of the AJC Peachtree Road Race. The 2026 Polar Opposite Peachtree will take place on January 3, 2026, and it'll be just like the Peachtree, but backward, starting in Piedmont Park and ending at Lenox Square.

The AJC Peachtree Road Race is more than a 10K.

For the 56th Running of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, 10 eligible 501c3 non-profit organizations in Georgia will have the chance to raise awareness and fundraise for their cause through the Peachtree with a Purpose Official Charity Partner Program.

Curious how this program can impact the community? Just look at three-time Olympic gold medalist Gail Devers who chose to run her Peachtree for a purpose in 2024. Thanks to her support and sponsorship, she raised thousands of dollars for the Atlanta Track Club Foundation - her charity of choice – and inspired countless runners and walkers to fulfill a healthy lifestyle.

Other organizations in the 2024 program included the Kyle Pease Foundation, Girls on the Run, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, 100 Black Men, Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, and more. Applications are now open for non-profit organizations/affiliations to be a part of the program and fundraise for their cause through the Peachtree.

Selected non-profits will receive guaranteed entries into the Peachtree, and participants will be required to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the non-profit. EXCITING NEWS ‼️ Announced at last night's Town Hall, registration for the 2026 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race will be here before we know it. Atlanta Track Club members will have the exclusive opportunity to register on February 6, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

After that window closes, registration will reopen for the general public on July 4, 2025, until capacity is reached. Event capacity will increase, but no final capacity number has yet been announced.

In addition to Polar Opposite Peachtree updates, the Club gave exciting updates on the upcoming USATF Half Marathon Championship on March 2, summarized the organizational success from 2024 and more at the Town Hall.

📣 CALLING ALL ARTISTS! It's time to put your skills to the test by submitting a design to the 2025 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race T-shirt Design Contest.

This traditional contest allows artists for their design to be worn by over 50,000 participants in the world's largest 10K, and the top three artists will win a cash prize.

With a $11,600 prize purse, one of the largest in the contest's history, this year's competition raises the stakes for creativity. The winning design will earn $5,600 in honor of the 56th Running of the Peachtree, along with a feature on a commemorative edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution front page. Second- and third-place winners will take home $3,500 and $2,500, respectively.

After narrowing down submissions to the top five by a panel of judges from Atlanta Track Club, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the community, the public will decide on their favorite by voting at ajc.com/peachtree from March 10 - April 10. Per tradition, the winning design will remain a secret until the first runner crosses the finish line on July 4.

For the first time, you can register early for the 2025 AJC Peachtree Road Race for the lowest price and guaranteed entry before the lottery returns in 2025! Early registration is only available until July 11, 2024. After July 11, the next chance to register for the race will be in 2025 at a to-be-determined date in the spring via the lottery. With demand increasing, non-members will register to enter a random lottery with no guarantee of participation if the race reaches its 2025 capacity of 55,000 before the lottery period closes.
