The AJC Peachtree Road Race is the world's largest 10K, held annually on July 4th in Atlanta, GA. From just 110 finishers completing the first race in 1970, the AJC Peachtree Road Race now welcomes 60,000 runners and walkers and hundreds of thousands of spectators to enjoy Independence Day in Atlanta.

On November 4, 1964, Atlanta Track Club was founded as a merger between two track & field-based organizations - the Atlanta Striders and the Metropolitan Atlanta Track Coaches Association - to promote the sport of running to all of Atlanta.

Today, 60 years later, we celebrate the accomplishments of the Club along the way and the community that makes up Running City USA. Over the past six decades, we have achieved significant milestones including hosting the world's largest 10K event, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, building a membership base of over 37,000 strong, establishing Kilometer Kids, a free youth running program benefitting thousands of children, organizing more than 40 annual events, and creating incredible memories with our supporters.

As we celebrate 60 years and reflect on the successes of the organization, we want to say thank you to all of the runners, walkers, wheelers, members, volunteers, supporters, and more who make Atlanta “Running City USA.” We are excited for the future of Atlanta Track Club and look forward to continuing our mission of creating an active and healthy Atlanta.

Experience the Peachtree like never before - in the winter and in reverse. Starting at Piedmont Park and finishing at Lenox Square, the course will have no left on 10th; you'll be turning right. And instead of climbing Cardiac Hill, you'll run down it.

❄️ Want the lowest registration price? Become an Atlanta Track Club member for 2025 starting TOMORROW and receive the best price for the Polar Opposite Peachtree and all other events.

❄️🍑 PEACHTREE BUNDLE: Register for both Peachtree Road Races at the same time! Secure your spot in the July 4, AJC Peachtree Road Race by bundling with the January 4, Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race through the “Peachtree Bundle” registration option. Skip both the wait and the April lottery by purchasing the bundle!

In addition to the exciting announcement of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race taking place on January 4th, we also announced important updates on the July 4th AJC Peachtree Road Race at last night's Town Hall ‼️ If you weren't able to make it, here's a quick recap 👇

🍑 Announced a few months ago, the Peachtree's lottery is COMING BACK! Atlanta Track Club members, participants of the future Polar Opposite Peachtree, and those who signed up during the early registration period back in July will receive guaranteed entry.
📅 MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Registration for the Peachtree will take place on April 1-30, 2025. During this time, anyone can register for the lottery and will be notified in early May if they were selected or not.

Happy 100th birthday, Jimmy Carter! 🎉💯

As we celebrate the 39th president and 76th governor of Georgia, we also want to recognize his love of running. Carter was a cross country runner at the U.S. Naval Academy, and while he was governor, he was the official starter of the 1971 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race!

While he was president, he joined the Running Boom of the 1970s and could be seen running around the drive behind the White House or on the roads to Camp David. He even coined jogging as "one of the high points of his day" in an interview with the New York Times in 1979.

We wish Jimmy Carter and his family the best, and we appreciate his support for !

We want to give a huge congratulations to three icons of the AJC Peachtree Road Race Shepherd Center Wheelchair Division for their accomplishments at the 2024 Paralympics: Daniel Romanchuk, Susannah Scaroni, and Tatyana McFadden! ✨

Daniel Romanchuk, the course record holder for the Peachtree in the male wheelchair division, won gold in the 5,000m T54 and bronze in the 400m T54! 🥇🥉

Meanwhile, Susannah Scaroni, the course record holder in the female wheelchair division, took silver in the 5,000m T54 and bronze in the 1500m, 800m, and marathon!🥈🥉

Tatyana McFadden, 8x winner of the Peachtree, became the most decorated U.S. Paralympic track & field athlete in history with 21 total medals, and added two more to her collection after taking silver in the women’s 100m T54 and bronze in the universal relay - open. 🥈🥉

Congratulations to all these incredible athletes!

One week ago... 🍑🌳 This year's AJC Peachtree Road Race was one for the books, and we're already counting down the days until July 4, 2025! Today is the LAST DAY to register early for next year's race & receive guaranteed entry at the lowest price. Register today at https://bit.ly/25AJCPRREarly

For the first time, you can register early for the 2025 AJC Peachtree Road Race for the lowest price and guaranteed entry before the lottery returns in 2025! Early registration is only available until July 11, 2024. After July 11, the next chance to register for the race will be in 2025 at a to-be-determined date in the spring via the lottery. With demand increasing, non-members will register to enter a random lottery with no guarantee of participation if the race reaches its 2025 capacity of 55,000 before the lottery period closes. Atlanta Track Club members will still be guaranteed into the race at that time. Register for the 2025 early registration at atlantatrackclub.org/peachtree.
