I’ve been doing a lot of corporate film work for my friend and client, Leslie Lumpkins, surrounding his organization - the Legal Champs. In watching him navigate through myriad events, I gained a profound respect for his love of our community, his passion and hustle as well as his ability to not only hold his own, but often stand in a leadership role amongst high powered medical and legal professionals.

The filmmaker in me saw an opportunity to showcase what I’ve been seeing so I requested his permission to create this mini documentary. From there, this project was born.

When Covid struck in 2020, I was in the Virgin Islands. It was a crazy time full of uncertainty. During the lockdowns, wifey and I would hit the beach everyday just to break the monotony of sitting in the house. The longer the madness went on, the more the beach grew to become my therapy. I bought a sport camera and started to document some of our beach days. I never looked at the footage until last month. I thought it was a story worth sharing.

Logo refresh! When I launched Earthtone Entertainment back in 2012 I had visions of being more than a indie label but the music was the priority. I was just starting my photography journey and hadn’t even gotten into film yet. Well priority change. New Passions are found, and here we are 11 years later. My passion for film and photography consumes me so it’s only right. I’m still on the same mission to tell stories that matter to people who come from places like me, but do it in a way the helps move the culture forward not backwards. Not glorifying any negative BS. Man, I approve of this post! Words have too much power. We wasting way too much time talking about who runs what or who doing what to us! If we focus on us and take care of each other it won’t matter what they put in front of us. Why should they stop profiting off of our destruction if we don’t care?!? I don’t play it no more, I don’t really wanna hear it. Let’s unite and turn that s**t off and help save these babies! Smooth it out brah. Mural painted on the wall of building housing on Edgewood Ave. Yesterday the governor of GA signed a voter suppression bill to limit the black vote because he and others like him are scared of the power of black voters led by these powerful black goddesses! We knew it was coming though. That’s the same old tactic of white supremacy. When they get scared of our progression they move the goal post. This movement has to much momentum though! The city is all in! The people will prevail!
