Let’s get together! Pre-pandemic, our intention was to bring people together in a non-networking way. What’s non-networking mean?

It means we want folks to focus on creating connections, not handing out cards.

It means we’re focused on creating community, not referrals.

Our next event is coming up, we’d love to you to join us. DM us or join our email list for more details!

In today’s episode, we sit down with Boomer Sassman () the owner of Big Boom design and talk about his journey as an entrepreneur.

Boomer happens to be one of our favorite business owners in town because of his ability to optimize his business toward his ideal lifestyle.

Listen closely, and you’ll hear how Boomer selected a market (website design, specifically on Wordpress), grew his business (to a team of more than 12 people), strategically changed strategy (reducing his offering to ‘niche down’), and has worked to reach his ideal equilibrium between work and adventure.

We hope you enjoy the conversation!

This week’s guests are Joe and Shelton, the founders of .

If you haven’t heard yet, Wrong Way River Lodge and Cabins is an audacious project that from where we’re standing has been expertly executed. 16 Scandinavian/Appalachian (Scappalachian) Inspired Cabins, welcoming Lodge, and open spaces on almost 2 acres along the greenway.

We get into a lot in this conversation. We touch everything from the design and concept inspirations, to their non-traditional vision for connecting guests with the community (voluntourism), and we even get into the complexities of land development and operating a business like this.

You’re going to want to out the episode and, if you make it all the way to the end, you’ll hear an exciting announcement about November!

ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 this Monday we’ll be hosting our 3rd Monday Maker Mixer.

Our last two were in January and February of 2020 and they were great!

The goal with our is to create an atmosphere for business owners, invested community members, and aspiring entrepreneurs to connect in an authentic way.

We intentionally don’t call this a Ñ€+working event because that means folks showing up and forcing business cards on you.

The objective in Monday Maker Mixers is to create an opportunity for this community to connect with likeminded folks, make friends, and build a local tribe to collaborate with and support.

DM us for details.

Do you recognize our first guest of the session? 🧐

I convinced Sarah, my wife, to join me and share the story of scratching her own itch and creating — the internets home for all things pasta tools and Italian (or Italian inspired) kitchen wares.

Importing and selling physical products is, entrepreneurially speaking, a long way away from providing marketing services.

We get into those differences and so much more in this episode.

You can listen whenever you listen to podcasts.

In this episode, we interview Matt Parris, the CEO and founder of Roots Hummus and the Roots Foundation.

Roots is an incredible example of a mission-driven business. The work they do in their core business directly supports the work they do in their non-profit.

Roots added 100x to their manufacturing capacity and took on debt for the first time just before the pandemic hit. We were excited to sit down with Matt after a hard 2020 and talk about the future.

🗣️Real talk: your business might be bringing in thousands of dollars of revenue without actually turning a profit.

In our latest episode with Jefferson Ellison of , we talked a lot about making (and losing) money in business. 💵💵💵One of the most important lessons that Jefferson has learned along his entrepreneurship journey is that sometimes you gotta scale back and re-evaluate how your money is moving before you can scale back up again.

We call this slowing down to speed back up.

Have you ever experienced this dilemma? How did you handle it?
