🏅 A huge shoutout to Emma Oreskovich for placing 24th out of 191 girls in her August cross-country competition and earning a medal!

Join us in applauding Colton and Hadley Mast, our shining stars and Junior Ambassadors of Anchorage Public School in August 2024. Thanks to the talented photographer Tammy Young for capturing these precious moments.

APS 7th graders Thatcher Cook, Tripp Kinnaird, and Aaron Oreskovich had an unforgettable experience thanks to an auction package their parents won. The package included watching a Louisville City FC practice, having lunch with the team, and attending the game. What a treat!

APS' 5/6th Girls' Field Hockey team won the JV Division of Crimson Clash Tournament in August. Congratulations and GO ANCHORS!

Anchorage Cross Country was off to a strong start to their season! The elementary and middle school teams competed in the Tully Invitational at Tom Sawyer Park in August and medaled in all 8 races. Congrats to the following kids for earning medals with their top-35 finishes: Libby Winkler, Alex Albright, Nolan Burtel, Oliver Chesnut, Emma Burtel, Cora Barnes, Max Mays, Sam Asher, Alex Asher, Emma Oreskovich, Rory Galvin, Ava Mays, Lucy Hogan, and Charlie Burtel. Alex Albright finished second in his middle school boys' race. Also, a big congrats to the 4th/5th Grade Boys team for finishing 3rd overall in this competitive meet.

🏊‍♀️The OCCC Flyers swim team had another year of sun and fun with swim practices, meets, and the end of year City Meet at Louisville Country Club. The kids had the opportunity to compete with their friends in the pool while improving their swim strokes with Head Coach Samantha Stallings and assistant coaches Madelyn Sadowski, Noha Lim, and Meme Steinbock. ⭐ Over the summer at Anchorage Public School, the learning didn't stop! Kids enjoyed classic camp activities like soccer, basketball, and robotics, but the real excitement came from two new additions - 'Yes Camp' with Mrs. Noon and 'Cardboard Camp' with Mrs. Sentz.

In Cardboard Camp, students from grades 1-6 worked together using cardboard and Makedo tools to build whatever their imaginations could dream up. Meanwhile, Yes Camp, for grades 3-5, let the campers take charge, choosing their own activities each day. These camps sparked creativity, teamwork, and a sense of ownership, making it a summer to remember!

🎉 Congratulations to Sammy T. on his first Blue Gold Ceremony with Anchorage Cub Scout Pack 274!

Anchorage Public School’s rising second grader, Sammy T., celebrated his hard-earned achievements at the Blue Gold Ceremony on May 12 at Hobbs Chapel. Alongside his Tiger Den, Sammy received awards for his hard work and capped off the day with cupcakes! From racing in the Pinewood Derby to launching rockets, Sammy’s Cub Scout journey has been full of adventure. What makes it even better? Sharing these moments with his dad, younger brother Lucas, and friends!

Did you know Sammy is the third generation of Anchorage Tylers in Scouts? A huge thanks to Drew Hensel, Steve Kaebnick, and all the dedicated leaders of Pack 274 for making this past year unforgettable.
