Our Story
Cy’s Eyes on the Skies is the only live weather broadcast at Iowa State University. Founded in 1999, the main purpose of the show has been to give those students wanting to pursue a career in broadcast meteorology a chance to practice their on-air skills and gain experience making weather graphics and working with a green screen. As of August 2017, CEOTS has upgraded to The Weather Company's MAX graphics system. This state-of-the-art TV graphics computer helps students learn more about a career in broadcast meteorology than ever before. It does not matter if a student does not wish to go on-air as extra assistance is always needed to help with the production of each show with equipment such as cameras, audio and commercial server. During the 2019-20 school year, Cy’s Eyes on the Skies will be airing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm on Greenlee-TV. The studio is housed in 171 Hamilton Hall and all are welcome.
