Following up on a mistake made in the direction of rectangle mortices and their placement, the following plugs were cut and glued in. Nice and tight.
Placement for the correct placement failed again, putting them in the wrong orientation.
I'll chalk that one up to the head cold.

A friend brought this nice china cupboard door to me with a very unusual break. The break rand down the grain, in Oak and, I couldnt see any flaws in the wood.
Luckily, he was extremely careful to keep all the delicate splinters intact. That made the glue up SO much easier and made the outcome invisible!

Working on shaving down tenons to fit the mortices.

All working well ... until it wasn't.

I'd already cut.mortices in 3 of 6 top support members, but found that I'd cut them 90° off the shape of the tenons and, spaced too far apart.

Today's workshop journey finally got me back to the 4 Japanese style sawhorses.

Here, I am carefully using a bandsaw to cut the tenon for the cross member that stabilizes the two legs.

Had a major tune up to perform on the set of 6 Irwin - Marples morticing chisels I bought.for Christmas.
The before close ups show chipped edges as if the previous owner had tried to use them for carving stone!
The after shot shows the gleaming honed and polished cutting edges after an average of 1 hour with each chisel. That steel wasn't giving in easily.
