Alvin Live

Designed to bring original and entertaining musical performances to ACC, the Foundation sponsors the annual Alvin Live Summer Concert Series.

Since 2011 the ACC Live series has used the studio setting for its productions on 89.7 FM and KACC-TV, Cable Access Channel 16. All monies raised support scholarships and equipment for the Communications Department.

Alvin Community College and the ACC Foundation want to thank all of you for your support of Alvin Live during the last 10 years! Our concerts have been a great success and helped revive live music venues in the Alvin area. After careful consideration, college and foundation leaders have made the tough decision to end the Alvin Live concert series. The facility has some needed repairs that are cost prohibitive and therefore the ACC Board of Regents has approved the potential sale of the building that houses the Alvin Live venue. The Foundation held a final concert on June 13 with the legendary local band, LC Roots. It was a great night to wrap up an exhilarating run of concert events. After raising more than $20,000 for student scholarships over the years, we are grateful to everyone that purchased tickets, sponsored band performances, and volunteered their time and effort to make sure Alvin Live made a lasting impression.

We've got a few tickets left for tonight's show with Andy and the Dreamsicles! Doors are open at 7:00. $40 per ticket and the proceeds benefit ACC Student Scholarships. Price includes great snack foods, wine, beer, soft drinks, etc. It's a great way to spend a Thursday evening!

Radney Foster's latest album is out to rave reviews and is on the charts quickly after the release. We had him here in June and got to hear several of the tunes on this one - what a talent! Hope you were here to enjoy the show.

We just had our wrap up meeting for the Summer 2017 concert season! What a blast we had with Radney Foster, PeeWee Bowen and Jason Boland - and raised lots of money for the ACC Foundation and Department of Communication scholarships. Jason Boland reminded us last night that country music wasn't supposed to be about nice trucks and shiny things...it was supposed to be about "losing a truck, or a dog, or a girlfriend...it's not supposed to be too happy." What a great show he put on - can't wait to see what our 2018 series holds in store.
