Susan Bauer “The Embodied Teen”: A Somatic Curriculum for Teaching Body-Mind Awareness
Susan Bauer shares her many years of experience as we explore somatic practices. Susan will share about her journey in education working with teens to learn about their bodies and build inner resources to tap into our body intelligence on a regular basis. Basic principles of somatics—like paying attention to our bodies and developing a less judgmental ‘inner witness’— can be a key to helping teens to thrive. But how do you make these practices accessible for teens and young adults, so they can develop a level of comfort with their own bodies? This discussion will look at somatic movement activities based in anatomy/physiology that establish a base for lifelong well-being, while encouraging compassion for oneself, others, and the planet we all share.
