Breaking: City businessman Dr Patrick Olet has completed the take over and possession of former Minister Daniel Omara Atubo's School , Leo Atubo College Ngetta in Lira City.

Dr. Olet took over the school on Thursday following the sale which was done at undisclosed fee.

UPDATE',Otuke District chairman Francis Abola has accused the district woman MP Susan Abeja of fighting development in the district.

Abola made the accusation, after reports emerged that MP Susan Abeja had reportedly stopped the distribution of 14 hand walking tractors to framers in Sub Counties and town councils in the district.

UPDATE: President Museveni has reappointed Johnson Byabashaija as the Commissioner General of the Uganda Prisons Service (UPS), rebuffing U.S. sanctions against him.

This means Byabashaija, a key ally of the president, will stay in his position till the end of 2026 general elections.

Byabashaija joined the prisons in 1989 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of prisons.

UPDATE: The constitutional court has declined to nullify the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023

A controversial petition which was filed by Andrew Mwenda and others against the Attorney General on 29th May 2023 as the Key respondent on behalf of government was heard on 18th December by five justices led by Deputy Chief Justice Richard Butera, Geofrey Kiryabwire, Muzamiru Kibeesi, Monica Mugenyi and Christopher Gashirabake who heard the evidence and arguments presented to them and promised to give their verdict.

The justices of the Constitutional Court have today in a judgement read by the Deputy Chief Justice Richard Butera unanimously dismissed Andrew Mwenda and group’s petition and declined to nullify the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023.

UPDATE: Dr. Odur said in the last six months, they have screened 1,390 women for cervical cancer.

Out of these, 74 women tested positive for cervical cancer, 44 were found in advanced stage of cervical cancer and were referred to Mulago Cancer Institute for further management.

UPDATE: The Rt. Hon. Prime minister Robinna Nabanjja is this Thursday 4th/April/2024 expected to visit Amolatar district to assess complaints of ill treatment of fishermen by the UPDF fisheries protection unit.

She will also commission Nalubwoyo HCIII constructed by the UPDF engineering brigade at Shs.900 million in Amolatar district.

Amolatar district chairman Geoffrey Ocen has noted that UPC party is currently gaining massive support in Lango and hopes are they could win more seats in the 2026 elections.

He said the current wave of support that the UPC is enjoying is an indicator that the people of Lango are getting fed up of empty promises being made by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

UPDATE: Uganda Police Force Spokesperson Fred Enanga has officially announced that UPF has taken a decision to sell their fixed-wing aircraft (PI80 Piaggio Avanti II Evo).

The aircraft had failed to provide effective services due to the lack of tarmacked runways in many parts of Uganda according to Enanga.
