Call for applications to the Development Studies & Social Research special certificate program, held from January to July 2024. The program is held entirely online with a mix of English and Burmese language lectures and materials.

For students in Myanmar: You will learn to link social theories to real-world research practice. The skills you learn in this program will help you and your community to build new academic and practical knowledge, the kind of knowledge much needed, particularly in Myanmar. Training a new generation of social researchers is critical in this time of difficulty, change and hardship. This program will connect you with an international network of academics and development professionals. You will also earn academic credit, usable toward a master’s degree at Chiang Mai University.

All coursework is completely online, with courses flexibly designed to match the needs of learners with limited time, irregular schedules, and unpredictable connectivity. Instructors are available for live online discussion or through other communication channels. Funding is available for students with demonstrated need. The course is accredited by Chiang Mai University; these academic credits can be used in the future for a master’s level degree at Chiang Mai University.

Course structure:
The course contains seven taught modules and supervised term paper/assignments, delivered through lectures, group discussion, self-study, and guided group work. Students are expected to read the core texts for each lecture. Lecture and discussion will be in Burmese; reading materials will be in English. Each module will comprise 45 hours of teaching, discussion and guided assignment.

၂၀၂၃၊ အောက်တိုဘာလ (၃၁) ရက်နေ့မှ စတင်ပြီး၊ ၂၀၂၄ မေလ (၉) ရက်နေ့အထိ လျှောက်လွှာတင်ခွင့်ကို ဖွင့်ပေးတော့မှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

Japanese Techniques to Overcome Laziness:
ပျင်းရိခြင်းကို ကျော်လွှားရန် ထိပ်တန်း ဂျပန်နည်းစနစ် ၅ ခု

1. Ikigai

Discover your purpose in life.
Determine the reason you wake up each morning.
Choose something that aligns with your strengths, passions, and the needs of the world.
This is what gives life meaning.

သင့်ဘဝရဲ့ရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကို ရှာဖွေပါ။
မနက်တိုင်း ဘာလုပ်ဖို့ အိပ်ယာထရသလဲ ဆန်းစစ်ပါ။
သင်၏ အားသာချက်များ၊ စိတ်အားထက်သန်မှုနှင့် လောက၏လိုအပ်ချက်များနှင့် ကိုက်ညီမည့်အရာကို ရွေးချယ်ပါ။
ဒါမှ ဘဝဟာ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရှိလာမှာပါ။

2. Kaizen

Focus on small improvements every day.
You don’t have to do everything at once, just aim to progress little by little.

နေ့စဉ် သေးငယ်သောတိုးတက်မှုများရအောင် အာရုံစိုက်ပါ။
အရာအားလုံးကို တစ်ပြိုင်နက်တည်း လုပ်စရာမလိုပါ၊ ဖြည်းဖြည်းချင်း တိုးတက်ဖို့ပဲ အားထုတ်ပါ။

3. Pomodoro Technique

Work for 25 minutes, take a break for 5, then repeat.
This helps you stay focused and avoid burn-out.
It’s a game-changer for productivity!

၂၅မိနစ် အလုပ်လုပ်ပြီး ၅မိနစ်နားပါ၊ အဲဒီအတိုင်း ပြန်ထပ်လုပ်ပါ။
ဒါမှသာ အလုပ်မှာ အာရုံစိုက်နိုင်မှာဖြစ်ပြီး ပင်ပန်းနွမ်းနယ်မှုလည်း မဖြစ်တော့ပါ။
ဒီနည်းလမ်းကြောင့် သိသိသာသာ အလုပ်ပြီးမြောက်နိုင်ပါလိမ့်မယ်။

4. Hara Hachi Bu

Don’t stuff yourself!
Eat until you’re 80% full and you’ll feel more energized throughout the day.
Plus, you won’t have to unbutton your pants after lunch.

ဖောင်းကားနေအောင် မစားပါနဲ့။
၈၀% ဗိုက်ပြည့်အောင်စားရင် တစ်နေ့တာလုံး ပိုပြီး ခွန်အားတွေပြည့်ပြီး တက်ကြွနေလိမ့်မယ်။
ပြီးတော့ နေ့လယ်စာစားပြီးရင် ဘောင်းဘီကြယ်သီး ဖြုတ်စရာ မလိုတော့ဘူးပေါ့။

5. Shoshin

Approach tasks with a beginner’s mindset.
Don’t worry about being perfect or having all the answers.
Just be open to learning and trying new things.

အလုပ်တွေကို ခုမှစလုပ်ဖူးတဲ့ လူသစ်တစ်ယောက် စိတ်သဘောထားဖြင့် လုပ်ပါ။
ပြည့်စုံကောင်းမွန်ဖို့ သို့မဟုတ် အားလုံးကိုသိနေဖို့ စိတ်မပူပါနဲ့။
အသစ်အဆန်းတွေကို သင်ယူပြီး စမ်းလုပ်ကြည့်ဖို့ ပွင့်လင်းစိတ်မွေးပါ။

Here’s the best part —
You don’t need to learn ALL these techniques at once.
Just focus on getting a tiny bit better every day (Kaizen) while staying positive in your journey. (Shoshin)
