The conflict in South Sudan is an initiative of Initiative for Peace Communication (IPCA) an independent, nonprofit, non-governmental Organization found by South Sudanese media practitioners in 2010. It was registered under South Sudan Ministry of justice non-governmental organization Act, 2003 in 2013. It aims to foster interaction and collaboration among media practitioners, human rights defende

rs, civil society activists and other sectors of the society on issues of human rights, peace, democracy, and freedom of expression, rights to information, and review suppression of media, defend journalists, writers, and other communicators against control that could undermine freedom of expression, providing technical and financial support to media practitioners in need, organize seminars, fellowships and workshops to enable human right defenders and journalists in the country exchange and identify their information gaps to strengthen their work. It also aims to research into issues affecting open society participation, and to establishment press monitoring program to help both the media practitioners and authorities to follow the accuracy of media output to let them improve.
