Public education on Public Education: a Shared Vision on Transforming Learning for All in
I've served as Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education now for three years. Within that period, we've built incredible things - policies, systems, infrastructure etc - and have laid the foundation for something wonderful in Sierra Leone. The primary reason for that is because of the vision, ideas, and commitment of President Bio. Listen, there's nothing I do that's not often discussed with the President and isn't improved by him. Secondly, my team at MBSSE are such incredible and committed staff. We are present right across the country and we work all throughout the day and night for the children of .
Yes, there remain challenges across the board and we're even more committed to addressing those challenges through innovative ways over the next five years. We are committed to having and solving new challenges and not more of the same as we met or have now. And for that to happen, we need all of you on board.
Yesterday was a special day!
Special as President Bio launched the 5-Year Education Sector Plan: Transforming Learning for All. While previous plans were led by international/foreign consultants, this was purely driven by local experts in our universities and our public sector institutions under our leadership. This Plan was done by our people and, for our people. We had incredible support from UNICEF-SL, the Global Partnership for Education, the World Bank and the Multi-Donor Trust Fund and FCDO/Leh Wi Lan but it was informed by data we collected, consultations we held, reviews we conducted and financial simulations we shaped. Download it on mbsse.gov.sl and read!
Yesterday was special because this ESP has come out of President Bio's vision and commitment for human capital development. And today, we can begin the work towards those set out targets as a country, knowing that when we transform learning for all.
