Krio is the most widely spoken language in Sierra Leone and is native to the Creoles who are freed slaves from Britain, The United States and West Indies. While English is Sierra Leone's sole official language, Krio is far more widespread. Most of its vocabulary comes from English, but its sound system and grammar are closer to that of nearby African languages, in particular Yoruba. On the street of Freetown, we bring you some of our local snacks you can find almost every every. They’re sold by mobile (walking) vendors, typically in clear plastic containers carried on their heads. We named some of them in this video but our favorite of all is the kin driver or kill driver. Why this cake is known by some as “Kill Driver" and others called it Kin Driver?

One of the unusual items in the museum’s collection is a couch specially made for Queen Elizabeth II to use for her visit in 1961 but she never end up using it.
