ICYMI: 50 Best announced its highly anticipated Asia’s 50 Best Bars list earlier this week. Singapore saw 11 of its cocktail venues claim coveted spots on the rankings, with @jiggerandponysg and @nutmegandclove leading the pack from the Lion City.
Also kudos to @atlasbarsg and @fura.sg for winning supplemental awards in Best Bar Design and Sustainable Bar respectively.
Congratulations to all winners and onwards and upwards next year!
José Maria Ferrer, CEO of renowned Catalonia-based Spanish wine producer Vins Família Ferrer, was recently in town to promote his range of Can Sala cavas. Traditional method sparkling cava, in our opinion, isn’t as popular in our part of the world as it really should be.
We ask José about Can Sala and why we should pick up a bottle or two.
Can Sala is distributed in Singapore by One Minor Group and can be purchased at One Cellar.
New restaurant spotlight - Chef @clee_benu of San Francisco’s three Michelin-starred modern Asian restaurant @benu_sf has opened a concept in Singapore! Located within Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in the west of Singapore, @naohrestaurant brings a refreshing modern flourish to traditional Korean cuisine.
We dropped in for a sneak peek (and taste!) just before its opening this weekend, and revelled in dishes like samgyetang ginseng chicken soup and Pyongyang-style naengmyeon cold noodles. We also love that the restaurant uses vegetables grown on site in a fully automated smart farm inside the innovation centre itself, which you can visit and sample the freshness of the vegetables harvested there.
Na Oh may be located far from the outskirts of the city, but is definitely worth the trek to @hyundai.innovation.sg if you combine your visit with the various customer experiences offered by Hyundai particularly if you’re an automotive fan.

Did you know that Riverland in South Australia is one of Australia’s largest winemaking regions, known for both quality as well as affordability? More interestingly it grows an amazing range of grape varieties that range from classic French varieties to Mediterranean ones more commonly found in Spain, Portugal and Italy such as Touriga Nacional, Arneis and Aglianico, and even offbeat ones like Georgia’s Saperavi.
We had an insightful introduction to the wines of Riverland at Vinexpo Asia earlier this week, and even got this invite from Jim Markeas of @malleeestate to visit the region.
Bucket list, added!

Spotted at Vinexpo Asia 2024 in Hong Kong - Dublin-based Natterjack Irish Whiskey, which interestingly borrows some bourbon techniques and influences in their whiskey making.
Now you’re probably not expecting us to be shilling non-alcoholic wine, but there’s no denying that there’s a burgeoning NOLO (no-alcohol, low-alcohol) sector that’s taking hold across the world. We had the opportunity to chat with Amanda Thomson from Thomson & Scott, makers of award-winning non-alcoholic wine brand Noughty Wine, at the recent wine and spirits trade show Prowein in Düsseldorf last month where she shared with us why NOLO is all about wellbeing and inclusivity.
If you want to learn more, Amanda will be at the coming ProWine Singapore at Singapore EXPO this week talking about NOLO and Noughty Wine. You can hit her up there for more.
