In a world that values self-control, a personal crisis can shatter us into fragments we can’t ignore. This reflection explores the tremors that arise in the face of danger and stress as a way to process trauma. What does this say about our relationship with the body and the capacity for self-healing? A poetic look at the history of involuntary tremors.

'Before this’ and 'Sometimes, not Always’ are the two new contemporary dance works created by ilDance’s professional junior dance company and choreographed by Lee Brummer and Israel Aloni.
Before This is inspired by the different stories of individuals; stories of loss, triumph, love, courage, life events and incidents which, when combined, all form the mosaic of both our personal lives and of our society as a whole. Sometimes, not always reflects on the notion of borders as such. It aspires to expand what is considered as part of a huWOman being and sequentially, impact the way in which we interact with the world.

This solo work arises from the necessity of investigation about identity and identification, inspired by the illustration series of Adrian Cox, called 'The Fields of Wonder'. In a surreal scenario in which fantasy and reality merge, echoing the human cycle of expansion and 'growth', an individual Wonders about what it means to be 'Human' both in his physical and social exploration.

This is a site-specific piece performed as a silent poem written on a wall to be instantly washed away thereafter.
“No room for nostalgia. But there is memory, still, beating in people. The streets change, changing their people. Time has two faces."
The Great Wash by Vida Vojić

THEM presents the pain of not fitting in, the thrill in finding your strength, the shame of misusing it and the sorrow of not knowing how to cry. It is a performance about men dealing with toxic masculinity and women dealing with men – everyone trying to have the right to be, just be. It is a physical theatre piece based on dozens of interviews with male identifying people from different countries, as well as the creators’ own personal experiences living in a world that is not designed for THEM.

Fringe Festival 2021
So honoured and happy to have participated in this Festival. The idea was to explore a different side of Gothenburg Fringe Festival and honour the incredible talent of the artists that give so much to our community. There's such great work being done. All those shots became so symbolic to us in a time of severe lack of human heat.
Thank you to all who helped.
