Released during the summer of 2021, HINSIDES' Under Betlehems brinnande stjärna debut LP was a firestorm of freezing filth. Undeniably necrotic as per the earliest birth-pangs of Scandinavian black metal, peer within that piercing sound and you will have found a wealth of fascinating and fearless twists to ancient black metal tropes. Here, HINSIDES revealed themselves to be more melodic and magisterial than they hinted at on their earlier split with comrades MONSTRAAT, but nevertheless kept the attack fu***ng FERAL and utterly unreal in sum effect. Perhaps all this was unsurprising given that the band is the sole work of M.A. from the esteemed ULTRA SILVAM...but either way, a new (and harrowing) horde worth reckoning had arrived with acidic aplomb.

WITCHSNAKE are a still-new formation hailing from Italy, who may or may not contain members of other cult Italian bands. All we know - still - is that the band's lineup consists of Al on "guitars, bass, possession" and Joe on "drums, w**d." Fittingly, WITCHSNAKE's self-titled debut - originally released digitally last autumn, and then physically released by HELTER SKELTER this past summer - was a smoke-choked juggernaut of blackened-yet-bluesy STONER DOOM in the strictest, most traditional sense. Witchsnake was unique in that the album's first three tracks were the newest, recorded in August 2022 and showcasing the band at their most towering and terrifying; the second half of the album was comprised of three tracks recorded a month earlier, which WITCHSNAKE consider their original demo - jammier and mostly instrumental, they concluded the album in fitting style.

Now, WITCHSNAKE reveal their most potent work yet in Deathcult of the Snake. Creepy and greasy, like biker doom taken to its sleaziest-yet-crushing extremes, the tone alone on LP #2 could peel paint off walls...and then soundly collapse those walls with their molten power. Whilst recognizably WITCHSNAKE, there's moments of Hawkwind at their heaviest and Monolith-era Amebix that are integrated across Deathcult of the Snake, rendering the latent blackness and shuddering stoner doom ever more unique and engaging. Likewise, the band can still step back and smoke with the best of them - the v***r trails seem to coil both higher and lower here, the sense of space simultaneously soothing and foreboding - and when the CRUSH comes, it really comes... But perhaps best of all are the vocals; while never omnipresent, when they do come in, they sound like the unsettling ruminations of a wizard-biker sage. Or, perhaps just gaze upon the stark cover art and you'll be forewarned of the madness you're about the embark upon: this is the Deathcult of the Snake!

Label statement March 24th 2024!
As you have noticed we´ve had a very silent start of the year and there´s been almost no news from our side for the last 12 weeks. The reason being serious personal matters beyond our control and lack of staff to fill in when needed. During this time we’ve done our best to be as communicative as possible and we´re currently working hard on answering all unanswered messages. We are truly grateful for your patience, understanding and support of the underground scene. It means a lot for an underground label like ours!

This has also caused a delay on some of our upcoming releases due for release in January, February & March. We´ll update with new release dates and all pre-ordering customers will receive a personal email with their current order status.

Worth mentioning is that during the last 12 weeks there´s been a lot of new arrivals, most orders has been sent out but we haven´t posted any news so far, so keep your eyes open the next couple of days during which we´ll post all the newly arrived releases!

Formed in 2013, THE BLACK FURS are the very definition of a CULT band. To coincide with those aforementioned reissues is the MASSIVE compilation The Mayhem Years, which collects all those non-album releases as well as other rarities - nearly 80s minutes total, a true DOUBLE album!

The band's second full-length titularly translates to ""From beyond the ancient chime of the devil bell is heard," and a more apt approximation of HINSIDES' ever-expanding sound cannot be found. Joined by ULTRA SILVAM drummer L.A., M.A. brings back the church bells of the preceding album and goes gonzo with them; at nearly every (crooked) turn, there tolls a bell of doom, summoning dread powers from that Beyond. More concretely, those sinuous peals of eeriness provide complementary / contrapuntal color to HINSIDES' most rippling 'n' roiling black metal yet. But heed the METAL aspect of "black metal" here: the duo devilishly construct dark headbangers that soon whip forth into a state of possession, with starkly melodic leads flying fast and free, altogether creating a (dark, devilish) narrative flow that's exceptionally unique for something so necro. Underlining that Devil's Heavy Metal aspect of Hinsides hörs djävulsklockans urklang is the guest appearance of Jonas Hansson from olde-worlde hard rockers SILVER MOUNTAIN, dropping a solo into "I nekromisantropisk harmoni." Bringing that aspect to a boil is the cover of the Plasmastics' "The Damned," which HINSIDES malevolently make their own (and which can only be found on physical copies of the album).

WARCOE "A PLACE FOR DEMONS" ALBUM RELEASE!!

Warcoe are a power-trio hailing from Italy, that land rich in doomed materials. Naturally, WARCOE honor their national identity with a '70s-entrenched vision of pure DOOM METAL as first laid out by Ozzy-era Black Sabbath. In fact, in vocalist/guitarist Stefano Fiorelli, you will not find a more uncanny Ozzy doppelganger.

WARCOE began their journey in 2021, first with a couple digital singles and then an EP, all of which coalesced into their debut album, The Giant's Dream. Likewise released digitally, The Giant's Dream was also self-released on CDR and tape in true DIY fashion. So smitten with these authentically vintage vibes, HELTER SKELTER released The Giant's Dream on CD and vinyl right before the summer, with hopes of spreading the WARCOE name far and wide.

Wasting no time - and, indeed, sure to spread that name further and wider - WARCOE return with their second full-length, A Place for Demons. Aptly titled, A Place for Demons is prime olde-world DOOM, steeped in Sabbathian tones and proto-metal vibes. However, WARCOE possess an enviable amount of charisma, and their songwriting soon becomes a thick 'n' heady potion of hard-rocking heaviness, warm in tone but definitely supernatural in aura. Much like they did on its full-length predecessor, the power-trio manage to massage new sensations from that eternal archetype whilst staying reverent; if anything, there's a pronounced swagger to A Place for Demons that suggests star-power in the making. But beware: the closing nine-minute epic "Buio" is one of the most stultifying boulders of sound you'll hear this year, sealing your grave with cold, cruel certainty.

Originally released in 2019, Stereophonic Freak Out Vol.1 was THE BLACK FURS' second album - a decidedly darker, more traditionally stoner-doomed affair. Just three years prior, they'd released their Doomed Blues debut full-length, which showed their true garage-rockin' side to its fullest, but the interim years - as well as the handful of short-lengths - must've been some hard ones, as what emerged on Stereophonic Freak Out Vol. 1 really, truly encapsulated their self-appointed "Death Blues" style: everything rumbled heavier than before, the doom got more DOOMED, songs stretched to much-more-STONED lengths, and the blues was palpable. Nevertheless, if this was THE BLACK FURS at their most conventionally stoner doom, then it still possessed the charisma and charm to elevate the band above a crowded scene.

HELTER SKELTER will now be bringing THE BLACK FURS' back catalog to a wider scale with a full reissue program, all in anticipation of the band's brand-new third album, which should see release next year.

Formed in 2013, THE BLACK FURS are the very definition of a CULT band. Hailing from Argentina, the power trio may residually reside in the same stoner doom scene that has given us such heavyweights as FULANNO, MESPHISTOFELES, SAHARA, THE CROOKED WHISPERS, SERPENT COBRA, and EN LA NIEBLA - all bands within the orbit of HELTER SKELTER now, of course - but THE BLACK FURS dub their sonic style "Death Blues," and for good reason: often doomy and most definitely stoned, sure, but there's a grand helping of garage rock gurgling within their soupy cauldron. Think more Nebula or MC5 rather than Electric Wizard or Sleep, but of course with that uniquely Argentinian twist.

Originally released in 2016, Doomed Blues was the first full-length BLACK FURS recording - and it was truly titled. Scorched and sizzling, there was a richly throwback vibe of this 52-minute travelogue. Part psychedelic Stooges, part '90s garage rock revival of '60s garage rock, and a love of Sabbath by way of Sleep, Doomed Blues threw in everything that was at the power trio's disposal, often going for overload and always succeeding in stoning the f**k outta the listener. Despite its title and their "Death Blues" demi-tag, Doomed Blues nevertheless possessed an endearing sense of fun: that grit, grime, and glory of raw-as-f**k ROCK. Thankfully, THE BLACK FURS would keep this relatively sunnier disposition intact and make a whole thrill-seeking (and still-going) catalog out of it.
