Twic County Community in Juba elects new chairman

The results were as follows:

3-Aweng Payam: Ngot Mayar-432, Dium cyerdit-232

5-Turalei Payam: Ngot Mayar - 354, Dium cyerdit-260
6- Wunrok Payam: Ngot Mayar- 897, Dium cyerdit- 777

The election was commended by prof. Abednogo Akok Kachoul, the National chairperson of of the National Election commission “NEC” who visited the election venue on Sunday and expressed his support for the process. The voting concluded at 8 pm. With the counting continuing overnight, and the final results were announced on Monday 16 September morning at 10 Am.

SPLM-IO has withdrawn from Tumaini Initiative saying the recently signed protocols of the Nairobi-based peace talks violate the 2018 Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

SPLM-IO members who are part of the R-TGoNU delegation in the Tumaini Initiative will now be withdrawn in protest because the party’s political bureau says “the Protocols establish alternative institutions, replacing or running in parallel with those in R-ARCSS besides repeating most provisions in R-ARCSS or existing national laws. The Protocols clearly breach the R-ARCSS and undermine the ongoing peace implementation processes.” that

Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico was wounded in a shooting on Wednesday afternoon and taken to hospital, Associated Press reported citing a Slovakian TV station.
