Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Peter Mayen has claimed that his wife, Aluel Messi, has divorced him. Mayen made the announcement on his page, where he shared an emotional post.

"She divorced me last night, that is my Ex lovely wife (Aluel Messi), whom we all love her 'forever' with my son 'Mayen Jr, Majongdit'. Mayen Jr, is till on her neck asking her (Aluel), ''Why diverse my Father when he needs you most?'' is it's just for presidential candidatscy. No..No.. I am going Home with my father this week...I gree with my son....... God Bless South Sudan," Mayen post reads

According to Mayen, Aluel divorced him last night to the suprise of his son.

This is not the first time that Mayen and Aluel have been in the news for controversies. The former minister, over years has featured on news for all the wrong reasons with his wife. He was also recently fired from his position by President Salva Kiir. The reason for his dismissal has not been made public.

President Kiir, Kenyan President, Djibouti President to travel to Sudan to reconcile conflicting groups and restore stability

In a bid to address the ongoing crisis and restore stability in Sudan, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has put together a delegation consisting of three presidents. These leaders include, President Salva Kiir, Kenyan President William Ruto and President Guelleh from Djibouti.

Their primary objective is to facilitate dialogue between the conflicting groups and reconcile their differences. The delegation will utilize their influence and expertise to bring about a peaceful resolution to the crisis and restore stability to Sudan.

The decision to send this delegation highlights IGAD's commitment to resolving conflicts in the region and promoting peace and stability. Juba University vice chancellor threatens to resign over low salary

Juba University's Vice Chancellor, Professor John Akec, has taken to social media to voice his frustration over the low salaries paid to university staff in South Sudan. In a recent post on his social media page, Prof. Akec revealed that his monthly gross salary of SSP 770,000 ($855) was inadequate and called on the Ministry of Finance and Planning (MoFP) to improve the salaries of university staff.

"If MoFP fails to pay me and staff a new improved salary by 26th April 2023, I am going to give up my job and join ranks of unemployed youth selling currency on our streets," Akech wrote.

The post has sparked outrage among the university community, with many calling on the government to address the issue of low salaries in the education sector. In response, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Peter Adwok Nyaba, has pledged to look into the matter and work with the MoFP to find a solution.

According to reports, many university staff in South Sudan are paid low salaries that do not reflect their qualifications and experience. This has led to a brain drain, with many talented professionals leaving education sector for better-paying jobs in other sectors.

The issue of low salaries is not unique to the education sector, as many public servants in South Sudan are also paid low wages that are not commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
