The media tries to sow fear and poison our minds with propaganda. They try to divide and rule. They try to separate families and make enemies from friends. Friend against friend, brother against brother, nation against nation.

How many families suffer from this war, how many families do not support it and just want to see the clear sky above their heads. How many of those who just want to see their loved ones again and know that they are safe.

It’s time to wake up and show them we are fearless. It’s time to say that war is not the answer. It’s time to say enough. It’s time to LOVE and be TOGETHER. It’s time to defend ourselves and show our voice. It’s time to get loud!

Hug your Ukrainian friends, hug your Russian friends. In these hard times we need solidarity, not division. Peace is the only answer. The question isn’t why. It’s who benefits from war and violence. And the answer is never people…

QR code with antibodies 🤳

Tourists and expats with Foreign Vaccines will receive 6-Month QR Codes in Russia.

For now, QR codes proving one’s vaccination or recent recovery from Covid-19 are required in museums and other public places across the country.

Russia has not yet recognized Western vaccines such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna. So to get a COVID passport in Russia for those who got a foreign vax was almost not possible.

That’s why from 21 February citizens and tourists vaccinated with foreign vaccines will be able to pass an appropriate test for antibodies and receive a document valid for six months.

To obtain a QR code it will be necessary to regístrate on the official website Gosuslugi and download the result of the test there.

Epiphany night in Russia 💦

On the night of January 18-19 Orthodoxes celebrate epiphany. Orthodox people commemorate the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River, seen as his manifestation to the world as the Son of God. People in churches read special texts to make all water holy for one day.

In Russia people have a special ritual to dive into cold water which as they believe will wash away all sins and negative energy. Also, it will give great health for the whole year.

There are some places where you can do this ritual in Moscow. It starts on January 18th at 18:00 and will last until 18:00 on January 19th.

How to get a QR Covid Pass for foreigners in Russia? 📮

QR codes have already begun to be a reality for citizens of many Russian cities. The QR code passes prove that a person has been vaccinated within the past 12 months, has recently recovered from Covid-19, or recently tested negative for the virus.

💉 VACCINATED - It’s necessary to have a SNILS (Individual insurance account) number to get Sputnik V and the QR code. These people can get their code through Gosuslugi.ru or Mos.ru for Moscow residents.

It’s possible to get a shot of Sputnik Light in the list of clinics that specifically work with foreign nationals and give QR codes after vaccination. Sputnik Light shots for foreigners costs around 15$ unless they have compulsory medical insurance and SNILS, then it’s for free. After they will get a valid QR code.

😷 RECOVERED - Individuals with medical documents proving their recent recovery from Covid-19 can get a QR code on Goduslugi.ru. It will be valid for six months from the day they tested positive.

🔬 PCR TEST - It’s possible to get a QR code valid for 72hours with pcr test right in a clinic. It’s not possible to obtain a QR code by taking an antibody test.

Holidays with “Moroz-Express” 🚂

The fast train "Moroz-Express" will start running from Moscow to the homeland of the Russian Santa Claus on the New Year's holidays. The new train will fulfill the existing tourist excursion project.

Moroz Express will leave Moscow on its first journey on January 3, 4, 5, and 8 at 16:15. The train will arrive at Veliky Ustyug the next day (January 4, 5, 6, and 9, respectively) at 10:00.

During the day, passengers will be able to visit the house of Ded Moroz, visit various excursion programs, and walk around the historic city. On the way back, the train will leave on the same day at 18:00, and already at 10:13 the next day it will return to the capital.

Delicious winter supplies- Lecho 🤤

Summer is over and this means only one thing, it's time to prepare supplies for the winter. One of the most popular supplies Russian truly love is Lecho.
Lecho is a unique dish that came to Russian cuisine from Bulgaria. And today you will find out the recipe:

Ingredients:

Tomatoes - 3 Kilograms
Bulgarian red pepper - 2 Kilograms
Vegetable oil - 1 Glass
Sugar - 1 Glass
Salt - 2 Tbsp
Vinegar 70% - 1 Teaspoon

How to cook:

1. Wash ripe tomatoes and pass through a meat grinder. Transfer the resulting mass to a large saucepan, put on fire, bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes.

2. Remove seeds from the peppers. Cut the peppers into small pieces and place in the hot tomato paste.

3. Add vegetable oil, sugar and salt to the lecho according to the recipe. Cook for another 30 minutes. Then 2 minutes before the end of cooking, pour the vinegar into the lecho, stir and turn off the heat.

Spread the hot lecho in clean sterilized jars and roll up the lids. Turn the jars over and let cool completely.

Russian tourist visa - new rules ✈️

It was simplified for foreigners to obtain a six-month tourist visa to Russia.

Previously, an ordinary tourist visa was issued to foreign citizens for only one month. The new rules simplifying the process of getting a Russian touristic visa for foreign citizens.

From now on to get a six-month touristic visa it is enough to book a hotel which is included in the list of the federal register.

There is also a "90/180 rule". It means that a foreign citizen can stay in the Russian Federation for 90 days from 180 days of the visa.

Mushroom Kalya 🍄

Kalya is an old Russian soup, a stew with cucumber pickle, which appeared much earlier than famous "Rassolnik" . This recipe is taken from the 1879 Cookbook. During the season, you can cook kalya from fresh mushrooms: you need 300 grams of them. The more varieties, the more intense the taste.

Ingredients:
Pickled cucumbers - 300 g
Mushrooms - 300 g
Onions - 100 g
Sour cream - to taste
Fresh greens to taste
Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Fresh pepper

How to cook:

1. Put mushrooms with water to the pot and cook for 40 minutes over low heat.

2. Meanwhile, cut the onion into small cubes, fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Add the diced cucumbers and simmer with onions for about fifteen minutes.

3. Transfer the contents of the pan to a pot with mushrooms and cook everything together for another 15 minutes over low heat. Add salt and pepper.

4. Pour the prepared mushroom kalya into plates, season with sour cream and fresh herbs, for example, parsley, to taste.

Santa Basilia is a quite new restaurant that was opened not so long time ago in the Moscow city center.

The most delicious summer drink - Mors 🍓

If you care about your health, it might be a great option for you to take any fresh berries and make homemade fruit drinks - especially since it is very simple!

MORS is a drink that can be prepared from any wild or garden berries.

Ingredients

0.5 kg of berries: black, red, white currants, cherries, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc.
100 g sugar or honey
800 ml water

How to make it:

1. Sort, rinse and dry the berries, remove the seeds from the cherries (if any). Chop them in a blender and pass through a sieve.
2.Put the resulting juice in the refrigerator (this way you will save the maximum vitamins), and place the rest in a saucepan, add sugar, water and bring to a boil. While stirring, simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
3. Strain the resulting broth, cool and combine with fresh berry juice.
4. You can add water to the rich fruit drink to taste or serve with ice cubes, which will cool the drink.

Traditional Russian meal goulash with mashed potatoes 🍛

This is so delicious and nutritious food that everybody in Russia from the childhood loves it!

Here is the recipe of this goulash:

Ingredients:

Beef - 500 g
Onions - 1
Carrots - 1
Flour - 1 tbsp.
Tomato paste - 1 tsp,
Sour cream - 1 tbsp.
Bay leaf - 1
Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.
Salt and allspice to taste.

For mashed potatoes:
Potatoes - 1kg
Butter - 50g
Milk - 300 ml
Salt, pepper to taste

How to cook :

1. Cut the beef into medium pieces. Heat the oil and fry the meat for a short time, until the juice starts to flow and the meat becomes a little crispy.

2. Add the diced onions and grated carrots and simmer over low heat until the onions and carrots are softened.

3. Add tomato paste, flour, sour cream and 100 ml. warm water. Mix it well with a fork to avoid lumps.

4. Pour the prepared tomato mixture over the meat roast and over medium heat, stirring continuously, bring to a gentle boil until, about 5-8 minutes.

5. If the goulash turns out to be too consistent, you can add boiled water .

6. Boil the potatoes in the usual way, in salted water. Do not completely drain the water and mash the potatoes in it.

7. Then add butter to the warm puree, pour in hot milk, salt and knead until smooth.
Serve the goulash aside of mushed potatoes. Mix it while eating.

The last football match of Euro2020 in Saint Petersburg has happened this Friday, July 2. That’s how Saint Petersburg finished the European football tournament this year.

Several European cities and countries host the Euro2020 this year. And Saint Petersburg was not an exception. From June 12 till July 2 North capital of Russia held the Euro2020 and welcomed all foreign fans to come to visit.

For those who have a Fan ID, it was possible to come here without any other visa from May 29 and stay until July 12. Those who came to Russia by Fan ID still can use it as permission to stay in Russia and even travel inside the country.

Although Euro2020 has been finished for Gazprom Arena Stadium, for now, the Fan Zone still works until the last day of the tournament July 11. It’s located on Dvortsovaya Square and everyone who wants to watch football can go there absolutely for free.

About 10 thousand fans have come to Russia during Euro2020 in Saint Petersburg. The city became a huge festival space! Although bars and clubs were opened till 2 am since the city restrictions due to covid19, people had a lot of fun that reminded them of the World Cup 2018 times in Russia. They were celebrating on the streets, nearby the stadium, in parks, in cafes, and in restaurants. Saint Petersburg was very glad to host 🙏

Sorrel pie the ultimate recipe 🥧

Sorrel pie is perfect for tea drinking. It is easy to make and you don't need a lot of ingredients. A great solution for a festive table or vegetarian guests.

Ingredients:

flour - 350g
milk - 1/2 cup
egg - 1
butter - 50g
instant yeast - 1 tsp
sugar - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp

For filling:
sorrel - 500g
starch - 1 tbsp
sugar - 5-7 tbsp

How to make it :
1. Sift flour into a bowl, mix with yeast
2. Make a hole in the center, beat in an egg
3. Pour in a thin stream of milk, add salt and sugar. Mix everything.
4.Melt the butter and stir into the mixture while warm.
5.Knead dough, roll into a ball, cover with a napkin and put in a warm place to rise.
6.Rinse sorrel under cold water, dry on a napkin, then cut into thin slices.
7.Divide the dough into two parts. Roll half into a layer according to the size of the form in which the pie will be baked.
8.Grease the mold with vegetable oil. Put finely chopped sorrel mixed with potato starch on a layer of dough, sprinkle with granulated sugar.
9.Form another layer from the remaining dough and cover the cake on top.
10.Make a holes with a fork. Leave in a warm place for a while to come up.
11.Brush the pie with an egg yolk. Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes at 200C.

Scarlet Sails in Saint Petersburg is the most expected event of the year ⛵️

The night 25-26 of June everybody celebrates Scarlet Sails in Saint Petersburg! It is the most beautiful event of the year.

The event is dedicated to the school graduates and happens only once a year. The city becomes comfortable to walk around because the government blocks some central roads and makes them pedestrian.

At 22:00 the celebrations starts and then it is followed up with the fireworks and the Scarlet sails going across the city. Everyone can watch it only if they have special tickets or orders a tour. It’s possible to watch the celebration from the front of embankments, from water by boat or from the top!

Botvinya is an old Russian cuisine dish for the summer heat 🍵

The name of the dish comes from the name of the top part of the vegetables - botwa (haulm). Since this cold soup is made from haulm of beets, shavel, spinach, onions or nettles. Traditionally, it based on fish broth. The best fish for such dish would be of sturgeon species: sturgeon, stellate sturgeon, sterlet. It also could be served with the soup separately. Also while eating constantly put pieces of ice into a plate.

Ingredients:

Fish - 600 gr
Vegetable leaves (haulm) - 400 gr
Potatoes - 4 pieces
Onions - 1 piece
Carrots - 1 piece
Butter - 2 tablespoons
Parsley - to taste
Sour cream - to taste

How to cook:

1. Finely chop or grate the haulm, carrots and onions
2. Cut the potatoes into cubes, cut the fish.
3.Add water, potatoes and fish to a saucepan and boil until tender.
4 Add butter and the leaves
5. Simmer everything together for 10 minutes
6. Cool the prepared dish and add sour cream and chopped parsley to taste.
7.Serve over ice
