Sayyidah Fātimah al-Zahrā was born on 20 Jumāda al-Ākhirah. She is the pure one who was born in a purified land (Makkah) to the purest of parents, and then grew up to marry the man who was purified from prostrating to anything except Allāh (Sayyidunā 'Alī). The Lord granted her pure children (Sayyidunā Ḥasan and Ḥusayn) whose purity has been declared in the Purest Book (Qur'ān). Her family are the Pure Household (Ahl al-Bayt) and they are guides to everything that is pure. She passed away in the purest month (Ramadān) and now rests in the purest of all cities (Madīnah). رضي الله عنهم

May Allāh allow our women folk to embody her noble way and grant us all her intercession on the Last Day.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐚̄𝐫𝐢𝐪 𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐙𝐢𝐲𝐚̄𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬?

It is reported that when Tāriq bin Ziyād slept on the river bank he saw a dream. In the dream he saw the Prophet ‎ﷺ with Abū Bakr al-Siddīq, 'Umar al-Fārūq, ‘Uthmān al-Ghanī and 'Alī al-Murtadā crossing the river by walking over it. Upon narrating the story, Tariq bin Ziyād said:
“As the Prophet ‎ﷺ crossed the river, it means that he ‎ﷺ gave gladtidings that Spain will be conquered.”

Then bin Ziyād decided to burn his ships. ‘Allāma Iqbāl said about this historic event that when he burned the ships his whole army offended him and asked. Where is it written in Islamic law to burn ships?! Where is it written to finish the resources?

Upon answering Tāriq bin Ziyād laughed and said by raising his sword, the whole land belongs to Allāh, we have not come to return, we will only return after conquering Spain!

The great commander and his army then went on to conquer present-day Portugal and Spain!

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝟏𝟔 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥

Sayyidunā Tha'laba was a 16 year old young man and he always ran errands for the Holy Prophet ‎ﷺ. One day while walking through the city of Madīnah, he passed by a house with an open door. Out of curiosity, he took a glance inside. 𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐇𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐚𝐳𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐲. He thought to himself that how could he be of the companions, one that is very close to the Prophet ‎ﷺ, one who runs his errands and be horrible as to disrespect people's privacy? He feared that Allāh would send a revelation to the Prophet ‎ﷺ of his hypocrisy so his guilt denied him to show his face to the Prophet ‎ﷺ, so he ran away.

Days went by and the Prophet ‎ﷺ kept asking the other companions if they had seen the 16-year-old beloved companion Tha'laba, but no one had seen him. The Prophet ‎ﷺ worried about him so he sent the two great companions Sayyidunā 'Umar ibn al-Khattāb and Sayyidunā Salmān al-Fārisī to find Tha'laba and bring him back.

They looked everywhere in Madīnah and on the out strikes of Madīnah until they came to a set of mountains between Makkah and Madīnah where some Beduins were herding sheep. The noble companions asked them if they had seen a young man and described Tha'laba as well. They told the companions about a weeping boy that had been here for 40 days. He came down from the mountains once a day weeping and drank the milk they would offer him. Then he went back up the mountain weeping and always asking for Allāh's forgiveness.

So the companions waited until he came down and watched him secretly. When they saw Tha'laba, they saw that he had lost weight and his countenance reflected sorrow as he drank the milk that was mixed with his tears.

The companions insisted to take him back to the Prophet ‎ﷺ but he refused and asked them if Allāh had revealed verses saying he was a hypocrite. They told him that they had no knowledge of any such verses.

He was then taken back to Madīnah where the Prophet ‎ﷺ went to see him. He asked again if Allah had put him among the hypocrites or revealed that he was. The Prophet assured him that there were no such verses. He laid out tired, weak body and the Prophet ‎ﷺ put his head on his lap (Allāhu Akbar, imagine this!). The Messenger of Allāh ‎ﷺ comforted him until he said that he felt as though ants are walking between his flesh and bones. The Prophet ‎ﷺ with tears in his eyes told him that it was death and his time had come. While his head was on the Prophet’s ‎ﷺ blessed lap, he recited the Shahāda and left this world.

The Holy Prophet ‎ﷺ washed him and carried him to the grave and it is narrated that on their way, the Messenger of Allāh ‎ﷺ walked on his tippy toes as though he was in a crowd. When Sayyidunā 'Umar asked about this, the Beloved ‎ﷺ explained that it was crowded with Angels, Subḥāna Llāh!
