Idara batool was inaugurated in November 1957, and its first magazine “Batool” was also published in the very same year. Since then, it is the only literary magazine publishing continuously without intermission, which is a record of its kind in women’s magazine history in Pakistan. Hameeda Begum was the founder of Idara Batool along with other founding members namely Rakhshanda Kaukab, Nayyer Bano, Bintul Islam, Zohra AbdulWaheed, Surrayya Asma, and Nusrat Mehmood.
