Commuters and motorists are experiencing traffic congestion along the national highway in Brgy. Guadalupe, Municipality of Carmen as floodwaters rushed through the road at the approach of Governor Miranda Bridge, connecting Tagum City to Carmen.

Due to the bad weather condition being experienced in Davao del Norte the Office of the Governor hereby declares suspension of classes at all levels and suspension of work in the Government Offices, excluding offices providing health, emergency and response services.

Meanwhile, the Private Offices are given discretion to declare suspension of work in their respective agencies for safety and convenience of their employees.

This so-called people’s initiatives for charter change is nothing but pure PI.

I was informed that PBA Partylist Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles is spearheading the PI movement in Davao City.
I am against this people’s initiative as this is not the people’s voice but the voice of a few who wanted to perpetuate themselves in power.

I also would like to inform all Dabawenyos, most especially in my district, that the House leadership has taken out P2 billion from your NEP budget for the district and left only a measly P500 million for Dabawenyos this year.

To all congressmen ganging up on us, do not give me that kind of BS because I will not starve to death if you take my budget away. Ang kawawa is yung mga Dabawenyos na bumoto kay PBBM.

I also heard from reliable sources that even the senators are explicitly requested to refrain from putting projects in my district.
Hindi ako luluhod sa inyo para mabigyan ng proyekto lalo na at may 30% pang kinukuha ang isang pekeng panginoon…Again,ang kawawa ay ang mahal kong mga dabawenyo.

I have kept my silence all through these months since I do not want my constituents to suffer from the dirty politics in the House of representatives .

To all Dabawenyos, do not sell your soul for a mere P100 or 10,000 in exchange for your signature. If you want to follow the MINIONS of the person DREAMING TO BE GREAT in Congress to perdition that is your choice.

2023 MOST SUCCESSFUL
YEAR FOR DAVAO DEL NORTE

Governor Edwin Jubahib said the year 2023 will go down in history as a very successful year for the province of Davao del Norte.

The governor took pride in the numerous accomplishments of his administration in moving the province forward, despite numerous challenges, to include “political differences of our leaders”.

“These accomplishments brought positive impact on the lives of the Dabaonon people,” Jubahib beamed during the first convocation program of the Capitol.

Some of the milestones in 2023 heralded by the governor include the success of his Zero-Billing program which benefitted 15,223 indigent patients, implementation of Php1.04-billion worth of infrastructure projects, and strengthening of the SDG Champion DavNor KAAGAPAY Program that increased the income of over 15,298 family beneficiaries.

As Davao del Norte sustained its insurgency-free status, economic growth was bolstered by more than 92,210 jobs created by the 7,674 new business registrants that poured in Php2.56 billion fresh investments in the province.

With improved delivery of services, the province continued to post the lowest poverty incidence in the Davao Region.

Former NPA strongholds were turned into bustling tourist destinations, boosted by the completion of 11 iconic tourism sites, under the P200-million Provincial Eco-Tourism Development Program that enabled the province to cap over 2-million tourist arrivals last year.

Among the celebrated awards of Davao del Norte include the 2023 Seal of Local Good Governance, where the province emerged as the only province in the Davao Region to grab the mother of all awards for LGUs.

DILG-XI Regional Director Alex Roldan reenacted the conferment of the award during the convocation program.

Davao del Norte once again clinched the highest Gawad Kalasag “Beyond Compliant” Award, while regaining its position as the Overall Second Most Competitive Province in the country in 2023, enabling it to remain the Most Competitive Province in the Visayas and Mindanao Region.

It also landed as among the national finalist of the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Award from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) last year.

Jubahib was conferred the most coveted Governor of the Year Award, during the Nation Builders and Mosliv Awards 2023, where Davao del Norte was also bestowed the Most Sustainable and Liveable Province Award, both for the second time around.

He was further awarded the Outstanding Provincial Governor for Mindanao Island Award, during the 26th National Social Welfare and Development Forum and General Assembly in Davao City. (N Baguio)
