BBM: let us empower the youth
A day after former Akbayan party-list Representative Walden Bello urged the youth to “force” frontrunners former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to show up in debates and present “not only their program for youth but their whole program before you so that you can judge,” the camp of Marcos released BBM Vlog #206 titled ‘Plans for our Youth’ via YouTube Saturday evening.
In the video, Marcos detailed his plans for the younger generation whom he described as “napakahalaga na sektor natin sa lipunan na minsan ay ating nakakaligtaan at hindi nabibigyan ng sapat na pagtugon.”
“Sila po ang sinasabing nating kinabukasan ng ating bayan, ang kabataan,” he said.
Top on his list is education where he would ensure that teachers will get just and timely compensation plus additional training and the granting of more student scholarships in state universities and colleges (SUCs).
He also plans to address other issues that are affecting the youth particularly climate change, mental health, early pregnancy and bullying.
“Lagi nating alalahanin na ang ating mga kabataan ay may sariling isyu. Isyu na hindi natin naiisip ng mga nakakatanda sa kanila,” he said.
“Kaya kailangan silang bigyan ng boses at ang boses na yan ay kailangan nating pakinggan,” he stressed.
He vowed that he will pursue programs that will “protect and improve” the welfare of the youth.
“Let us involve them more. Let us empower them and give them a voice in these discussions that involve them directly, their future.”
